okay, so afer my rant i will share the idea i have had for a long time! i want my H2B to walk me down the aisle with our children. i dont want to tell anyone to know that thats our plan, but i dont want to walk down on my own. i would rather walk down with him. my reason is ..... i dont need my dad to give me away, he is not a big part of my life and i have chosen this life for myself. we are going to walk out no more than what we were before we walked in......a family! and we always will be! we are not starting a new life.....we are making the one we already have alot better :-) thats all there is to it. i would not be where i am if it werent for craig, i would not be a mother, i would not have my career, my education......didly squat! he is my rock, my soalmate.....my complete everything. if anyone is more deserving of that, its him! but would it be wrong for us to walk down the aisle together?

I thought it might be nice if our son just walked me down the aisle, but I think it'd upset my dad if I didnt want him to do it so for that reason I've not mentioned it, I dont want it enough to risk upsetting my dad for it but I do think it's strange that my dad's 'giving me away' when I've been living with my partner for 3 yrs and I'm a mother already lol x

im not superstitious no jillh82. i thought he could meet me outside the church? i suppose it is only bad luck if the groom sees the bride before the wedding......well.....it will be the wedding wont it lol so i guess it wont be unlucky!!! hahaha xxx

i want to not see my h2b for 2weeks before the day just for that extra special feeling of seeing him after all that time i also think it would give us a bit of remebrence to remember what it was like in the beginning but hes not keen on. but its more prob cause he wont have anyone to cook his tea lol x

Do what you want to do..........Depending on which hotel my folks choose to stay in, i could well be sharing a bed with my H2B the night before the wedding and he will be seeing me before we walk down the aisle as we're travelling in the same Limo to the Chapel (not paying an extra $100 to be kept hidden from him). And i'm fine with that, at the end of the day its your wedding, and i think its a lovely idea for you to all walk down as a family :o) x

I don't go with superstition and I think your plans are just lovely and more to the point very true! As much as I simply love your idea I want Mark to see a before and after veiw of me, It's so rare you will ever see me in a skirt let alone a dress (not girlie lol) I want to see the suprise on his face. But he will be staying at our home the night before and he will be picked up by best man before the fun starts with hair/makeup etc. I hope you have a great day and I really look forward to hearing about your day when it comes around. :D x

I think it is an absolutely beautiful idea. No one is 'giving you away' like you are someone's property. You give yourselves freely to each other. what could be more wonderful than that? How lovely to walk in as a family..I love the idea xxxx

thats really nice avril he's a lucky chap! maybe stay at separate places the night before to make it special and then you could always walk through the doors on your own and he could meet you at the bottom of the aisle then he will still have the anticipation and the wow factor and then you can walk down the aisle together, lovely x x

I think you should go with whoever is going to make you happy on that walk, the whole dad thing...where does it come from? There seems to be a lot of traditions that don't make a lot of sense nowadays so I like the idea of going it alone or with the ones you are spending your life with.
