Ross hates public speaking, poor lad's really shy in a big crowd and has categorically stated that he does not want to make a speech and due to family politics we're not having a speech from Bride's dad (my stepdad is more of a dad to me but I don't want bio dad getting upset) Best Man however is all go for getting up and embarassing his big brother lol
So my dilemma is this - do I tell Best Man we're not doing speeches and I just say a few words to thank everyone who helped
    OR
Do I let Best Man do a speech and try to rope MOH into doing a speech and I say a few words of thanks
    OR
Do I just do a speech instead of Ross?

    It's right what they say
"The course of true love never runs smoothly"
But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D

Our fathers of the bride are not doing speeches, one of them is too shy, and teh other would have nothing nice to say- and isnt coming to the wedding!

I keep threatening to do a speech, but the reality is i will be too emotional.

One of the best men... a girl but they are insisting they are best men... even though they will be wearing dresses! Is doing a speech, think the only real speech will be hers... we have the hotel staff on hand to take her away if she goes on too long!

Have whoever you want- traditional order of speeches dont happen that often anymore! xx

My h2b wont do a speech either.. far too shy.. his brother is the same (he is best man) - we want someone to do a speech so his brother has been told that he has to do one.. My dad is going to do a speech and I will say a few words of thanks to everyone! I will just have to make sure david (h2b) is stood next to me..

Kerry, I dont think it matters whether your MOH does a speech too... just do what im doing and have the best man do a speech and you just say a brief thank you to people. xxx

I suppose it depends if you want anyone making speeches or not. I was at a wedding where the groom refused to speak so he wrote what he would have said and printed it on the back of the menus so everyone could read how he felt without him having to say it. If you didnt have speeches you could do a joint 'statement' in your OS or just hand them out
