Hi guys, as part of my wedding package my venue provides chair covers and bows. The covers are off white which is exactly what I need but the bows are pale gold/champagne which does not suit my colour scheme at all as it's silver and aubergine.

I checked with a local events company and they will charge £187 to provide a bow for each chair and deliver and uplift them (this does not include putting them on). I really am struggling to justify paying nearly £200 for this so they can be the right colour but it really doesn't fit in with my theme otherwise. Dave says leave the chair bows as they are and spend the money elsewhere as it doesn't matter that much. I know it seems trivial but I don't want it to look silly.

What do you guys think I should do? Thanks x

It depends on how bad the venue chairs are. Mine are nice enough to leave as they are and they match the room so I'm not bothered about it. If they were ghastly though I would say that it is enough to justify paying it out. Most people will not sit and look at your chairs going ooooo they are not the same colour as the bridal party etc

What do the chairs look like without the covers on at all? Could you have them without them at all? Either that or could you get the bows in your wedding colours from ebay or get the material for them in your colour scheme and get the venue to put them on instead of the gold ones? You could always sell them after.

It wouldnt look bad just having the chair covers if u dont like the chairs but if u wanted bows on theres then shop about for prices or buy a roll of sash material in your colour from e-bay or something and put them on urself. but to b fair i dnt think your guest will worry too much if they have a bow on their chair or not, they will b too interested in the bride n groom.. well and the drink! lol xx

Or venue it comes with the colours with the chair covers and the bows for the chair at i think it was £4.25 per chair. Which i think is mad. But we need them as there chairs are black and dont really fit in.
If they are setting it up and putting them on then i would say NO dont go for it.

that is for 120 sashes Hails, It's a pretty big wedding. And they add on £35 for delivery and collection which, thinking about it is completely ridiculous! it's £1.10 per sash, then rest must be VAT.

I am slowly coming to realise that there is no way I am paying this amount.

it is all the small bits that add up in price. my chair covers and sash's are costing £1.85 per chair. that includes delievery/collection and fitting. it is a lady just setting up her business so dont haev to pay VAT yet! good thing is she knows my sister so i know she will make them look as good as poss.

i was quoted £4.80 a chair from the main supplier the hotel uses and thought it was just stupid money when you are only hiring them for a day!! xx

all aubergine sashes? 120 might be a bit much

or half aubergine half off white?

    or half aubergine half silver?

what's your thoughts girls lol x

shop around it seems very expensive to me... we have hunted long and hard and for the chair covers and bows and to put them on is 3.50 per chair (through most of area/cheshire though) My groom agrees that the bows will finish it off and add to the colour scheme. I know its little but the little things do make the biggest differences.

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo

Personally I would go for all the same colour or half aubergine half silver. I think the first for me though as I like things to be the same lol. Its only a strip and the white will break it up. You will be having white table clothes etc so a bit of colour would be nice.
