Hi, we are going to see a lady about our wedding cake tonight, but i have no idea what to ask, or expect. We found her website with our ideal looking cake on it. I hope that she will give us the option to try her cake as we went to a friends wedding last year and when the bride fed her husband the cake he spat it out, as did everyone else that tried it other than the obscenely drunk or the children. . . I would hate this to happen on our day. .

Can't wait to become Mrs Hardwicke. . .

if you already know the style of cake you like, then its all about the flavours!! or would you prefer the cake in rounds or squares? cake toppers provided by her or your florist?
and I would defo be asking for a taste!

the one at my friends wdding was solid and dry, it literally crumbled in your mouth it was so dry. We know we want 4 tiers one fruit, one carrot, one choc and one lemon sponge, i'm certainly not going to spend over 400 on something i may not like. It's a lot of money to spend on something that may look stunning but taste awful. . . Thanks for the advice girls.Xx

we never got to sample our cake, as the shop gets them delivered to them and then they decorate them themselves, but had good reports about them, and love the design we have picked, its not going to be big enough to go round our 160 guests, but we have a chocolate fountain to compensate this :) x

yep, and your fruit tier will have to be on the bottom, unless she can do some jiggery pokery to support the weight of it on the top. Another thing to ask! cause fruit is heavier than sponge, it usually has to go on the bottom, as the biggest tier. Yuk.
(I'm having a separate fruit cake "cutting cake" cause I hate fruit cake so was all my tiers as sponge!)

are they delivering it and will they communicate with the venue regarding this on your behalf? Will they charge for this delivery or included in price?

arew there any testimonials on the website you can read? Request a tasting even if cant do it today before you book. THIS IS IMPORTANT.

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo
    start weight 10st 1.5 lbs
    weight now 8st 4.5 lbs
total loss to date: 24.5 lbs now need to maintain!

I would never book a cake without being able to taste a sample first, otherwise who know's what you might get? a lady we're thinking of using offers no-obligation tasting sessions.

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

The supplier we've been speaking to offers a free tasting session where you can taste upto 4 different types, others will have you buy a small cake then deduct from the final bill if you go ahead and buy with them... they should be able to do something x
