Hi guys I'm just doing some budgeting, was wondering if anyone knows the price of a religious ceremony in Scotland? I'm getting married in a catholic church, I found out online that the marriage certificate is £28 per person but I'm not sure how much to budget for the actual church service, is this just a donation you give the priest? and if so how much?

    thanks in advance x

we're also getting married in a catholic church we've been told to give a donation of around £30-£50 and also remember you need to give a donation to the organist if your using him/her xx

It varies from church to church so you need to contact them and find out. Also on top of this you will have the legal fees to pay which I should imagine are still about the £400 mark.

I keep hearing people say that they are paying all these hundreds of pounds for churches! My chapel isn't charging anything but a donation to the priest. Unless they are keeping it for a surprise for me! Although I'm not having organ, choir or bells x

im getting married at the henderson church, scotland where my dad and gran are members.Unfortunately i am not a member so instead of costing me £100 ( £50 for the church and £50 for the organist) it will be costing me in the region of about £275-£300. This along with the marriage certificates and fees etc is only slightly more than it is to get a registry office wedding in east ayrshire but almost £200 cheaper than getting married where we are having our reception.
