I thought you had won the £25k wedding then lol. My budget started out at 5k, crept up to 7k. I think its going to go over that now I've worked out all the venue costs lol

they say to budget for 3 times more than you actually have... im sure thats a rumour though as we seem to have most things almost dead on... apart from extortionate registrar fees. Did you do lots of research before writing your budget and ask a recently married friend? If you are well researched then I'm sure it will only creep up slightly. A jump from 5K to 7K isnt too bad provided that you have adequate time to save. In 27 months im sure you'll be fine but start looking and getting actual quotes and then you can ammend your budget accordingly.

i think regardless of what the budget is it is always hard to stick to it when its your wedding day.
I know that our budget has crept up!! eeek!

If you are really strict and get all the friends and family to help where they can (doesnt need to be in money could be in making cake or helping making invitations etc) then this will help!

wel i called the registry ofice and their prices are rediculous but got to pay that so cant be helped. h2b and i are both set on the venue but hoping to get a little discount and are having 2 courses not 3 as every wedding i have been to, by the dessert everyone is too full to eat it! some things i can cut down on like the wedding cars arent essential but would love a nice one. other things i have looked into and have asked friends so think i have that pretty much dead on.

i think 5k is realistic. we are spending just under £11000 and that includes £2000 on honeymoon.
if we had really tried we could have dont it for just over £5000 i think if we had tried right from the beginning

theres lots of couples now that can do it in 3-4000 so im sure it will be fine. You will be amazed at how many freebies you can get but your biggest price is the venue/catering so think smart.
