this is probably a daft question but should I be paying for my mum's outfit? it's just that we are getting my dad's kilt as part of our package so we are paying that, does that mean I pay mum's too?

We are not paying for the mothers but that is up to you. I don't think it is expected of you to do that.

But that is because he is to match the rest of the bridal party. Your mum isn't going to be wearing a bridesmaid dress or suit?

I don't think it's a tradition to pay for the mother of the brides outfit. I am paying for my Dad's also but he is part of the wedding party and want all the men to match.

I would happily pay for my mum's outfit if she was struggling because I would rather I pay for an outfit that she's going to feel happy and comfortable in than having her scrape together a bit of money to buy something that she doesn't actually like because it's all she can afford. It happened at my brother's wedding and my mum can't stand to see herself in those photos because she was so unhappy with the outfit she ended up with.

Probably not paying for my dad's though - doubt he would wear the same as the rest of the groomsmen, and if he did he would probably pay for it himself anyway.

our mums are expecting to pay for their own. We are just going to get them a nice thank you gift and celebrate them during the reception etc. I agree with Pennieb, if the mums are struggling and there was a spae bit of dough then I would pay the majority/all but with weddings being so expensive as it is, we never even thought of it.... both mums just made it out that they would pay for theirs anyways.

cant wait to be Mrs Evans less than 3 weeks woooo
