As most of you are probably aware I was the lucky winner of the Smooch rings last week.

Smooch are coming out to see us this Saturday and whereas before I was thinking 18k white gold as my wedding ring, now that i have a much wider choice i'm wondering if i should go for palladium as it doesn't require replating or anything. Would love platinum, but that is far too expensive for us and palladium seems to be the next best thing.

    Advice please girlies xx

The only reason I'm getting plat is cos my E ring is. H2B's ring will be palladium and I love it. When it gets a bit worn it, it goes a lovely colour! I was almost disapponted I couldn't have it too - although I love my wedding ring, of course! x

im having palladium but my engaement ring is platimum... i think if your engement ting is 18ct white gold then palladium next to it would be too harsh and wpold wear it away.... well this is what the guy from smooch told me!!

depending on what your engagement ring is i would go for palladium as it looks exactly the same but it doesnt need repolating and it will last longer as it a stronger metal! ry got me an 18ct white gold ring and it needs replating every 2-3 months and now he saying i have to get the same for my wedding ring as it will spoil my e ring otherwise which then means i have to have 2 rings replated every 2-3 months!!

palladium isa better choice i think as it looks no different and will not wear away!! that what iv been told anyway. xxx congrats on winning by the way and have fun choosing xx

Honestly hun I would wait till they come out to you!

We are getting ours from them as well and before they came we had a clear idea of what we wanted but once they got here everything changed!
We wanted yellow gold we are getting white gold we wanted matching they are completely different we wanted plain i have 4 diamonds hes having 1 lol.
Trust me with the choice they bring with them and the fact they can customise for you the possabilitys are endless and you'll end up with something completely different to what you wanted in the first place lol

Lol Hails, you got totally different to what you'd decided.

My engagement ring is 18k white gold so i guess will have to see what a palladium looks like next to white gold.

Krazy......having your ring re-rohdian plated every 2-3 months seems strange. I've always had white gold (well for the past 8 yrs or so) and apart from my E ring they have been 9k, which is worse for discolouring, but i have only had to have one ring re-plated and that was after 2 years. My eternity ring is 9k and just over a year old and the main part still looks perfect, its just the underneath which is going yellow. Do you take your ring off when washing up, swimming, using detergents etc as seriously it shouldn't be doing that.

As my mum keeps saying to me, her rings are 36 years old and have never been replated and look perfect - and to be fair they do!!
    xx

apparently it cos i have acidic skin! I dont do a lot with bleach and if i do i dont wear my ring but it stupid and as i was saying to ry it wouldnt be seen if it scratched a bit anyway! but he says he will not just get a 225 ring that will scratch a ring 4 times that much! so i dont know! but yeah i said that to the jeweller and she said it was my sking but it is just the bottom of the ring so at least you cant see it too bad xx

Ali, i'm sure Smooch will tell you this, but you'll need to be careful if having a harder metal such as plat or palladium with a gold e-ring as the materials will rub together and gradually wear away the gold. x

I have platinnum wedding and engagement rings, however we couldnt afford a platinum one for my h2b so he has gone for palladium, however when you place the two together you cant tell one is platinum and the other is paladium.
