Have seen these when looking threw Martha Stewart stuff and absolutely love them! Have ordered some tissue paper, wire and monofilament to have a go, but think my reception will look amazing with them hanging down, plus I thought it would save money on flowers as I could use them inside my bird cages too. But as always we all like to get feedback, so could you have a look at them in my album and tell me what you think? Thanks ladies! :) xx

Yeah, we are hiring a lovely hall in Oakham and they are really happy to let us decorate it how we like. Hope it will fit in well with the tea party/Marie Antoinette theme! :)

I'm having those! In a mag I've got, it says you can make them out of coffee filter paper but I might try your way, sounds easier. I think they look really cute and def a big moneysaver alternative to lots of flowers. I reckon they suit a summer wedding a lot more than an autumn or winter so that's lucky for us x x x

I think they are fab and would really suit a tea party!
Not heard of that, lol, think I wil stick to tissue paper too! Costs so little to make, bought 75m of monofilament for 99p from bay of e, so really happy with that! And with our wedding being in the Summer I think it will look great, so excited, want to get married now, lol. x

I live nearer to Grantham but having our wedding in Oakham, so pretty! Thanks kateh3, they do look like massive flowers, think I might have to decorate my girls bedroom with some too, very girly! :)

Well, have had a few goes at making these and although they can be a little tricky to get started it was great fun and they looked so amazing when finished! I now have 4 hanging in the kitchen and made a red one yesterday for Valentines Day. Can't wait to for our wedding day so I can see them all at our reception! Just having a problem in keeping them hanging for a long period of time as the big ones 20"x30", are a bit too heavy to be cellotaped to a ceiling, any ideas?

I really really love these but my venue wont allow us to stick pins in the ceiling, how else could we hang them with out falling down?
I am now Mrs Stacey Stiles and loving it!

try testing different types of tape, sellotape isnt always the "stickiest" tape, electrical tape, duct tape, parcel tape etc might work better?

The ceiling is really high in our venue and I don't think they will like us sticking pins in it as it was an old agricultural building and the roof has been restored. H2b had the idea of attaching blue tack to the end of the monofilament and throwing it over the beams on the ceiling and the idea is the weight of the blue tack will be heavier than the pom-pom and keep them up there. He will still need a big set of ladders to be high enough to throw it up though, or we could be there all day, lol. Or if they had an extendable curtain pole wide enough I would put them all up on that, but don't think there is a window in the world that is 40ft wide, lol.
