We decided on a carvery style meal as a main and possibly a fresh fruit salad for desert (have vegetarians and people with allergies to cater for so was trying to be sensible) Hopefully we will have our taster in a couple of weeks, nothing like leaving it until the last minute lol
CommentAuthorFaeth
Starter: Chicken liver pate & toast Main: Carvery - probably Beef, with potatoes n veg Dessert: Profiteroles topped with chocolate & toffee sauce Coffee and Mints
i wanted a carvery but ry wants a formal sit down meal where everyone eats at the same time so we probably having:
starter: prawn cocktail / soup main: Beef with yorkshires and gravy (plus pots and veg hopefully) dessert: choc fudge cake and custard
although we have a few vegetarians and allergies and ry has decided to become a vegan for this month so if that carries on i dont know what he will eat lol
i cannot wait to marry my best friend
i love you ry!!!

Id have had a sit down meal, but every sit down meal ive been to the options for kids isnt particularly great(chicken nuggets/gougons and chips etc) and as we have atleast 20 kids attending i wanted something that was easy for everyone where everyone would also eat something (my vegetarian guest doesnt eat tomatoes - how awkward lol, i have another guest with wheat allergies so can not have gravy on his meat)
CommentAuthorGregorysGirl
We aren't having a sit down meal, well of course the guests will be sitting, lol, but we are having a posh style buffet, with things like soy and ginger prawns in bubble batter, selection of pate and cheeses, patisserie cakes, mini burger crostinis etc. There is going to be a lot of cakes as it is kind of a Marie Antoinette theme crossed with a tea party, lol. I am hoping it all works well. Going to get pink lemonade in pretty bottles too with drink me tags. All very mish mash but I love it! :) x

we are not allowed to give our guests a choice apparently... we pick and thats that but reading these it sounds as though you can pick so am slightly annoyed with venue now. But we are probably having: starter: trio of melon with rasberry coulis and rasberry sorbet. Main: Lamb with crushed garlic and mint potatoes with root vegetables and some fancy word for what i presume is gravy, Dessert: choc brownie with vanilla ice cream and choc sauce - groom made one up not on the list haha! typical!
Not decided on vegetarian option yet.

We're having a picnic reception! Each hamper will serve four and will contain honey glazed ham, sliced roast beef, smoked mackeral pate, game terrine, some cheeses, crusty bread, chutneys, olives etc. H2B, Best Man & ushers are all chefs so they will be making it all themselves the day before. For the pudding there is homemade scones with jam, clotted cream & strawberries.
Not quite sure what food to have at night but at the moment favourite option is chilli & jackets. We're also booking a vintage ice cream van to serve some yummy ice cream :)
