Another quick thought... seems to be my day for quick thoughts! I really want to walk down the registry office aisle to a wonderful piece of music called Gabriels Oboe (its the music from the film The Mission). However, would you say it is religious in any way? I know I cant choose anything with a religious theme but not sure if this counts or not?! Yes, it has the word Gabriel in it and the film is about religion I suppose, but its not really a religious piece of music like a hymn, and it has no words in it which could be construed as religious..... what do you think? Will I get away with it??

From what I got told by the registry office is that you can't have it if it is a hymn/psalm etc. They will let you use things like Robbie Williams angels now as it isn't directly linking to God but it is up to each individual person that is marrying you to what they will allow. If I were you I would ask them directly with your song choices and see what they say. If they object then you could always find an instrumental version of your choice?

Ps I have just listened to it on you tube and love it. I'm going to pinch it for either the waiting for bride music or reception music. I'm walking down to the love of a princess from braveheart.

Definitely isnt a hymn or a psalm and it is just an instrumental piece of music so I guess it will be fine, will check with them when we go to see them in March. Still looking for some other music to play whilst waiting for bride to arrive and then music for when register is signed and we leave etc. Hard work!

you need to check with your registrars sometimes they let music by that does not have obvious words in it.

Check out some of Hans Zimmers work. He has written so many beautiful pieces for films. Some of our faves from from Gladiator, braveheart, Band of brothers, the Pacific and h2b is also having the great escape played while he waits for a laugh lol.
