    Hi Ladies,

I want both my dad and stepdad to give me away. It's very important for me to have them both.... the problem i have is that im almost certain that we wont all fit in the aisle :0/

I wondered if anyone could suggest some way they can both give me away without one feeling more important than the other etc???

I've thought about my dad walking me halfway down and stepdad walking me the rest of the way but i think it would upset my dad to do it that way.

I am getting married in a venue so I can control the width of the aisle by taking away a chair from each side, is there any way you could do something similar? Or walk down by yourself, have your dad with a bridesmaid and your step dad and mum walk down together before you, and ask them both to do a reading and a speach? So hard trying to fit everyone in and still have it speial for you :(
    Good Luck xx

Would you be comfortable walking down the aisle by yourself and meeting your dads at the end who both give you away at the same time?

Could one walk you half way down and then the other walk you the rest of the way down? One could sit half way down the aisle waiting for you then they hand you over to the other and continue down?

Either that or could you have a civil and then a blessing and one walks you down in one service and the other in the next service? We are having a civil and a blessing and the blessing is just a donation to the church so it doesn't have to be that much more expensive.

If I was in the same situation.. this is what I'd do.. I'd have my dad walk me down the aisle, like the traditional way and have my dad pass me to my step dad waiting at the end, who would pull back my veil (if your having one) and then have my step dad pass me over to my hubby.. That way they are both involved and both doing something that is hugely important for the dad OR I'd get my step dad to do a reading and I'd pick the reading myself, find something that is about a step dad bringing up his daughter and now shes about to be a bride, I dont know, but I know are such things!

    Child of My Heart

    Not flesh of my flesh
    nor bone of my bone,
    yet nevertheless
    my very own.

    For in my heart
    I knew in a minute,
    the moment I saw you
    you’d always be in it.

    To take your arm
    I’m honored this day,
    but don’t ever believe
    you’ve been given away…

    Forever I’ll keep you
    my child in my heart,
    because that’s where you’ve been
    right from the start.

Many times I have held you
    and now I let go,
for tears on your wedding day
    this gift says “I know”.

    My love and my blessings
    go with you today,
    forever and always
in my heart you will stay.
