Hi all, I'm thinking I might put together a wedding website. Do any of you know of a good one (I have been searching through the old posts and have seen reviews of a couple).
Anyway, I was going to maybe use the website instead of sending out save the date notices... I need to do this pretty quickly, I know, as any of my family will be coming from Australia and would need as much notice and time to save up! And, it's much harder to lose a website and its easier to search for an email with a link than a lost card!
Sooo, if I do the website and all the info is on there, and is kept updated- then there's no need for save the dates right??

ive made a website through getting married... its really good.
however i still sent my save the dates and going 2 use the site 2 put on the main invitations for RSVP's and travel information ect xx

I used gettingmarried.
I think it could be used to replace stds, although some less computer literate people may still need something on paper.
Now a extremely happy German housewife and now a Mother!!!!

Should be under "My Details" on your profile. If you scroll down to the bottom their should be an option about your Wall privacy.

i have a wedding website although i still sent out STD`s
i made one on getting married too, and still sent out STD's, i have separated my guests list too so the people i know go on the internet will just get the website with their invite and the people who i know dont use internet or im not sure will have info printed with invites. a good thing with a website is that if you forget to ive some info you can add it at anytime :)

We've got one on gettingmarried too but we didn't do it until way after the stds went out. They're a fab idea but you still need to tell people the site is there xxx

I just did a closed private group on facebook as most are on it including grandparents was easy gruop is still there and peopleg still post on it which is nice

I have also used the gettingmarried.c o m as a wedding website, but I've sent save the dates out too. The website is work in progress and when I send out the invites I'll put the address on their, it just means they can rsvp on their and check out gift list. There are also maps and close accommodation links that I think my out of town people will find useful

wedding website is a new concept for me [literally read somthing about it 5 mins ago!] and think its a very good idea, as your guests have no excuse for not RSPVing. However, i would still want to send out invites, and STDs for people with little/no internet usegage or that i think would apprecaite [and maybe want to keep] a proper invite. People like my mum, for instance, will get an invite/& std becasue she'll want momentos. But cousin SallyannMadeUp will get a facebook message linking her to a website i think lolz <3 x PS; and they save money on stamps too, actually. Wheay! <3 x

I'd never thought of that either, sounds like a fab idea. Depending on how camera shy you are, I had a friend who made a video which was really cool and such a cute and unique way to share the information! :) *************
