This may sound really daft but what exactly are wedding fairs for? Are they just for people with have alot of money to spemd on their weddings? We have a really small budget so would be get any use out of a wedding fair? I wouldn't want to pay the £10 fee to get in for nothing!
CommentAuthorFaeth
Why not check out some of the free ones? All the ones I have been to so far have been local ones that are generally hosted by wedding venues with local stockists taking part.
That way you can see what they involve without spending any money....

Think it is a good opportunity to see local suppliers and really helps you get into the wedding spirit. I have only been to free ones But have picked up lots of information and have Definately helped us to rule out things we would and wouldn't want.

I am just going to the free ones ATM, just to steal ideas! x

I don't think we get free ones here or not that I know off! I live in Northern Ireland and I've only seen one thats comes oce a year in Belfast....so if anyone is from here and knows of free ones please let me know :)
yeah you'll find some of the local free ones really useful for all the info they can give u! we are debating over whether to do the birmingham wedding fayre in march which is £13 entrance fee but realistically i dont know how useful a wedding fayre in birmingham is going to be as i live 3hrs from there! might be good for a day out tho!x

I'm going to a wedding fair today. I'm hoping there are a few venues with stalls as we're still undecided about where we want. Its a great place to see so many suppliers without you having to visit each one individually x
CommentAuthorRachie :D
IF you pay a £2/3 pound entry especially if they are giving away food and drink I think it's fair enough, they have to staff these events and they cost alot to put on. Enter every comp you can and take loads of notes xxx

They're great for finding local suppliers and meeting them face to face. They also have a lot of offers. Also, it's worth going for the free cake. I even got a free curry at one wedding fayre

I have been to one free one and one where i had to pay, and to be honest i won't go to any more as i came out just thinking that nice though everything was it was so expensive and i could never afford it so there would be no point, but it was good the first time to get some ideas/inspiration. I definitely wouldn't pay again to get into one. It was nice to go with my mate i must admit and have free champers, food tasting and you got some nice things in the gift bags but i know what i want now so no need. x

The Belfast and Lisburn ones are handy...where abouts is the Radisson? I'm sure I've passed it I just can't think where it is! Not sure where the lagan valley island is either but one of my bridesmaid lives ther so can ask her (though she doesn't know she's a bridesmaid yet :))

go to the free ones! we went to loads of posh ones that were free for the freebies, we had no intention of using the place as we had a small budget ours came to £2000 in the end, but go as it will give you ideas then you just do the stuff yourself or find cheaper alternatives my wedding should have had sponsered by ebay outside on a banner, just make everything that you can yourself. (have alot of pictures up of our budget day if anyone fancies a peak!)
was lovely looking around and sampling cakes etc have fun!
Enjoying being a wifey!!
