I've been reading about using escort cards instead of a table plan. Is anyone else doing this and if so how are you doing it. I've read about hanging them on a tree which sounds nice but would love to hear any other ideas. In case you haven't heard of escort cars they're an American thing where guests get a card which states their table rather than having it displayed on a traditional table plan board.

Yeah I have seen something like that with a small tree hung with name tags on ribbon, it was very pretty to look at. It is something I have been thinking about as we aren't haven't the traditional sit down meal but a fab buffet, and don't see the point of having a table plan. I want it to be relaxed and for people to just sit where they want with who they want and it leave them free to mingle during the evening without thinking they are sitting in someone elses seat, lol. I ordered some white dove place cards that you can put on wine glasses, but I might be able to make a small hole and tie them to a little tree that way.

See I think I'm still gonna have place cards to make sure I keep particular people together/apart but use the escort cards to direct people to their table.

I'm just looking for some inspiration on how to display them really. Don't just want to lay them out in alphabetically order on a table or I might as well do a table plan on a board

I think I have seen them tied to a bird cage too, which I might use as I have bird cages as my centrepieces anyway. Very effective all tied with ribbon to a nice antique white bird cage. Have you got a theme of any kind?

yes im having this see my album and mine are in there, my florist is designing the same tree as in there too ... and my escort cards are tags with crystals, mine tell them what table and on the table will be place cards to tell them where they are sitiing...
ya can display them in any way, in a vintaged up suitcase , on a table surrounding a floral display, hanging on a washing line the list is endless with a bit of imagination this could be as wierd and wacky as you want

I was going too but wedding is in november and wanted it outside the venue before guests came in but with the weather not sure it would work :-( so im having a table paln but instead of mounting card im going to mount them onto a mirror (see my pics)
