Wedding Forum - Other halfs helping eg wedding planning...

My partner has enjoyed looking at the venues and the menus but thats about it lol. I say 'look at these flowers, or invites' and he suddenly has a call to make lol. To be honest i prefer it that way, i can just get on and plan xx

oh and he tried to take over my spreadsheet LOL

Mine would dare Monica lol :D But he does want to help choose the big stuff and his suite which is fair enough but will poss leave the little bits to me

Well I nearly called the wedding off last night after h2b made a (imo) horrible remark...

He came upstairs telling me about darts bout 11.30pm, now dont get me wrong I will listen to anything sport related he has to tell me, but I cant stand darts. So I said to him "look im really not interested" and he turned around and said "well i always listen to you when your talking bout the wedding and im not interested in that". So then we argued a bit and I was so upset but he said "I dont care what you want or where you want to go, I would marry you now in our pajamas if you would let me" so it was a bit sweet but I still dont like what he said. Not going to discuss the wedding with him from now on and when he doesnt know a thing it will be his own fault :O( xxx

oh babes - well you should just plan all the things you want then.

however it is quite funny as he knows i' literally monica from friends and i have a scrap book and everything.
he makes all the right noises, but that might just be a rouse. he is such a girl sometimes as i bought him a watch as an engagement gift and he keeps refering to it as his engagement ring LOL

Oh angelan i feel for you hun. That remark would have gotten my back up too!! Was sweet of him to say he'd marry you there an then in your jarmys bless him :) but yeh, i think i'd be refraining from talking 'wedding' too. It's like, it's been said now whether it was meant horrible or not xx xx

bless you ladys i feel im quite lucky then as we had dinner earyier out and we were just talking all about the wedding and things we still need to doxx

Pidge was uber-keen groom. He wanted to be involved in everything (except dresses!). He stuck bits on stationery, helped choose BM handbags, came to my hair/make up trial, helped make centrepieces, chose hymns, chose wines, helped with table plan, made postbox, DJ list, flowers...... you name it, he was probably involved!!

Problem was... he lived in Newcastle, I lived in London, wedding was in Halifax, we saw each other once a month on average (sometimes not even that). Made wedding planning very difficult!

Yes my oh loves it to he leaving most of it up to me but he is just as excited and we decide most stuff together xx

h2b isn't planning any of it at all

Anthony only wants to be in charge of the menu and the honeymoon!!! so I'm very glad with that!!! I get final say on everything else!!! woop wooop xx

Chris tends to input his opinion on things as I go along. As soon as we picked the colours, agreed on the basics and had all that sorted out, I just got on with it. The finery gets done by both of us alot of the time.

He will be taking over pretty much everything to do with the prep for the wedding as time gets closer, as my study/exam time will get more intense, but by then we will have everything in the bag (I hope lol). He says he is actually enjoying it all as it takes away from the normality of everyday life and he never knew how many things you could get for a single wedding. He is often found each night obssessing over the great bay of e looking at wedding favours and other weirdness of the like lmao.

Mine has little spurts of interest but nothing too dramatic. He keeps calling it a leprachaun wedding as there is so much green! He hates being the centre of attention so dont think hes looking forward to it very much. His first wedding was very spur of the moment and low key so dont think he 'gets' the whole wedding planning stuff. Oh well. Supposed to be going to get my wedding ring today but think he is having one of his 'non-weddingy' type days and I'll most probably end up spending the money on a new hoover for my daughter instead! I know he wants to get married, its just he cant understand the reason for all the fuss. Its because I'M A GIRL!!!!!!!

My OH insits that i should have what i want, i ask him for his opinon or thoughts he then comes up with a ridiculios idea and even says now this isnt me taking the p**s but what about having blah blah. i dont think hes too bothered tbh in wha we have aslong as i turn up!! but now have a wedding planner for on the day and the mth before for all little bits to be done so she will be my rock then!! (i have had to get a planner cos my friends and family live about 200 miles away so they cant just turn up for an hr and help!!)

andy has been fab, really gotten in to the planning. its been lovely, makes it feel more like our day and not just my day. more special this way. gotta luv him xx

mine says he loves talking about our wedding. But when it comes to doing research, or booking things he is happy to let me do it. Which is fine by me!

I've asked his opinion on things and gone with what we both like but he's not too bothered about the whole planning thing he trusts me to sort it out (cheers) and know's I won't mess it up.
