It depends on what church you get married in. The legal side of it is about £3-400 but then they charge you extra for bells, choir etc and I've heard some brides on here get charged for heating. You do have to either live in the parish of your church or attend for so many months before the wedding to get married at a church so don't get your heart set on one in a place you don't live. I couldn't get married in my local church because it has big steps up to it and the church wouldn't allow me to get married in another church that was flat because I didn't live there or have any family connections. (against the disability discrimination act but that is the church for you)

Best thing to do is ring your local vicar up and ask him.

Ps when I asked it was £750 including choir, bells organ etc to give you a ball park figure. A registrar at a venue will charge you between about £310 and £400 depending on your area. You also have to give notice which is about £60.

We've been told £300 but it's extra if we decide to use the organist. There are all sorts of 'extras' with Church weddings, just depends on what you want.
Don't forget - unless you're marrying in a CofE Church you have to pay a fee for giving notice at the registry office, currently £33.50 per person (so £67 for you both) o that will need to go in your budget too

    It's right what they say
"The course of true love never runs smoothly"
But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D
