    2) The Bride and Groom are the theme
    - you could choose your fave colours
    - ask your parents (if suitable) for photos of them on their wedding days to use on your invititations
    - use places that mean something to you both as your table names, e.g. the location of your first date, and where you got engaged
    - use photos of you both on the menus/other stationary
    - table centrepieces could be different on each table to represent your hobbies and interests, e.g. fish bowl filled with sand and shells if you love the beach
    - a cake topper that's totally personal - you with your dog, etc.
    - favors could be a home-made cd of your playlist for the wedding, or your favourite songs
    - if your known for a love of fancy dress, how about setting up a corner with a box full of wigs, funny glasses, etc, and a couple of diposable cameras so you can capture some funny and unique photos of you and your guests on the day

    7 - TWILIGHT/GOTHIC
    (sorry Goth)

This type could be elegant and luxurious or as wacky as you want.
This is one theme where time period is not a must. You can choose from any style: Victorian, Gothic, ghostly, or, like the Twilight series itself—modern chic with a hint of darkness.
    Ideal for autumn/halloween night
    Colours - Dark purples/greens/black if gothic/twilight
Centrepieces - Candlebras with long taper candles and crystals hanging down/apples hollowed out to fit tealights into.
Favours - Rose sachets/black gothic mini photo frames/gothic candles/ truffles
Stationery - Red with black gothic wording would look great.
Dress - Depends on your overall theme—a ball gown dress for a Victorian era theme; a figure-hugging fishtail dress for a more contemporary look; or a chiffon Grecian robe for an ethereal, ghostly feel. Black, or any dark colors (deep purple, dark blue) with highlights in bold red should match the theme perfect.
Groom - The groom might also want to choose a suit that matches the bride’s gown or dress—a frock coat for the Victorian style; a smart tux to go with the bride’s chic contemporary look. Or, if you both are fanatic fans of Twilight, get the exact suit and dress that Edward and Bella donned for their wedding !(though custom-made ones might require a budget on tailoring).
Drink - Red wine and red sparkling juice (for guest who do not want alcoholic drinks).
Food - Add a touch of red or crimson—red-colored dipping or sauces (strawberry syrup to go with desserts, chilli/tomato sauce etc), or you may ask the restaurant/caterer for the menu to see which food you can mix and match to suit the theme. Rename your menu items with creative names also add to the mood.
Flowers - Starting with the floral arrangements, red roses are the easiest to get, or you may try other variety of red flowers: Amaryllis (for large blossoms), Heliconia, Tulips etc. Dark green foliage will go well with the red blossoms.
Decoration - Either gothic type candle holders with pillar or church candles/Decorative items (table cloths etc) in shades of red and black (velvet or dark purple will do if black is not available/ not an option) should set the mood. If you wish to, you may even have candle holders for each table—brass ones for the classic look; stylized ones for the more contemporary Twilight look. If you wish for quirky funny, Jack-o-lanterns might be an option!
Entertainment - Maybe buy the Twilight soundrack for backing music or any instrumental classic baroque type cds. /A live band or a DJ is fine for live entertainment, though be sure to tell them in advance regarding the type of songs you want them to play, and their costumes. Or, for a more special, befitting one, get a magician to perform magic tricks on the spot. That should add a mystical touch to the overall events.
Again there are lots more ideas of this type of wedding online - There is also the Halloween themed wedding but as a few brides on here are doing this theme, they may have more ideas than me. xxx

We're having a star trek reception. All the tables are going to be named after captains from star trek so, Picard, Kirk etc and the name cards are going to have the guests name on one side, and a quote from star trek on another, and then there's going to be a little star trek quiz too!!

    8 - STAR TREK THEME
    Please see wackymummys post above

    9 - GREEN AND WHITE
(for Erica) Not sure on your exact taste but here may be a few ideas hun. xx

Invitations - Dark green ink for printing Light green cardstock Green envelope seals or envelope linings. Stationary with green accents, such as an ivy border
Flowers - Choosing all-green arrangements with green blooms, Wrapping bouquets in green ribbon. Ivy and white roses - Ivy symbolises eternal fidelity apparently. Using more ivy, ferns, and other greenery in decorations. Choosing different shades of green for vibrant bouquets done entirely in green. Or white Tulips with Green china grass
Centrepieces - Adding green moss, pebbles, or marbles to floral centrepieces. Choosing green candles or candle arrangements as centrepieces
Decorations - I know you dont want anyting too much, just some ideas - Using topiary decorations or wedding favours
Using green pew ribbons or a green aisle runner Choosing lucky bamboo plant wedding favours
Choosing green linens for table decorations: napkins, tablecloths, runners, etc Ivy garlands can be bought on bay of e (very reasonable) and can be draped down staircase bannisters, tables etc....
Food - Pesto sauces Avocado dips mixed green salads. Bowls of green apples, grapes, or limes. Sliced kiwi, melon, and other green fruits , if you are having canapes there are a range of small canapes that can be served on little gem lettuce - the lettuce works great as a small bitesize base.
Favours - Green foil wrapped chocolates, green chocolate sweets, or pastel mints wrapped in green and white tulle.
Cake - Decorating the cake with greenery rather than flowers. Adding faux emeralds or other green jewels to the cake. Adding green icing details to contrast with the cake’s icing. (for Erica) There a few sites that also do uniformed cake toppers.
Candy buffet - greens and cream/white sweets and chocolates

Hope theres something here you might like. If anyone can add to this please do. xxx

what about a memories theme? We've decided that we are going to ask everyone in our invites to send us a copy of their wedding photo or if they are not married a past photo of them as a couple to send back to us with their rsvps. Then we are going to have them scanned onto the computer and played in a loop on a projector throughout the reception. Also we're going to be having a "Sweets of the Past" table which I hope everyone will love.

12 - NARNIA/THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE/WINTER ICE WEDDING THEME

COuld be great for any time of year but would work especially well in the winter months.
Colours - White, frosty blues and silver
Entrance - Have guests walk through giant wardrobe doors.
Tables - Named after characters ie Aslan, Caspian etc...
Favours - Turkish Delight - Snowflake wine stoppers, snowflake bookmarks, snowflake chocolates or icy mints.
Invites - Made like a wardrobe. Opens like a wardrobe fold card.
Dress - There is the obvious White witch dress or have a take on the Ice queen type dress.
Groom - Prince Caspian costume or more conservatively use the frosty silvers/blues in waistcoat/cravat/handkerchief.
Decoration - Ice sculptures - polar bears - Shimmering white or silver drapes - Led light branches - fairy lights - winter trees - Fake statues - Hire fake stone props, aslan, sleigh, ice bars and backdrops (link on my wall), Snowflake and icicle ceilling hangers, snowflake gobos (light projector design)
Centrepieces - Vases filled with crystals and led branches - frosty blue floating candles - stone candle holders with candles, crystals and possibly fairy lights.
Candy buffets - Blues/whites/silvers - mints - icy cups - iced gems - Kali (american cream soda) sherbert
Drinks Fountain - Aslan Vodka luge (ice sculpture with flowing vodka) Champagne, Vodka ice or vodka mixers
Entertainment - Fawn and Ice Maiden stilt walker - flute music - Human statues, you can hire narnia characters for this.

If you can add to this please do so. xxx

Take a look at my photos for a Gothic/Halloween/Victorian/Steampunk themed wedding - our colours are purple and black. I like your suggestions onthe Gothic list - but i object to Gothic being linked with Twilight lol
