Preston Court in Kent. Couldn't be more perfect (fairground ir garden party package) but neither do I live close nor could I afford it.

I've never wanted to get married anywhere near home - so when we were planning, and the idea of Gretna Green came up, I jumped at it!!! Long before I planned to get married I always though it would be good to 'elope' to Gretna, and although we didn't officially elope, it was still a perfect day, having a Gretna Green wedding (and just had to have the pic near the Gretna sign, as well as looking good on the marriage certificate lol).

Swinton Park Hotel in Masham - our absolute dream venue but far too expensive at £11,000 for exclusive use :o( So we settled for a lovely little boutique hotel in York instead xx

to be honest i never wanted to get married! i just didnt think id find the one!
but my venue i loved it when we started going there regular for meals just for a wee night to ourselves. we had someone in our family years ago that had their reception there but since its all changed and looking even better. h2b likes to call it our place and its a really beautiful spot.
id say that it was the one too like him lol

Don't get me wrong, I love my venue and for my area even though it's one of the cheapest it is by far the best. However, if I could have my dream venue it would be somewhere in New York. Somewhere like the Plaza would be lovely.

We're having our reception party in a domed Victorian green house filled with tropical plants, trees and flowers after our church wedding in an 11th century church in Liverpool. The best thing about the greenhouse is the all round windows, so we'll have natural light for most of the day with hopefully views of a fantastic sunset before the table tealights are lit to twinkle the room along with the uplighters hidden in the trees for the evening :-)

I have given this some thought. Other than the venue I am already having....my dream venue would probably be Woodchester mansion, as its a very spooky and atmospheric place in the middle of nowhere. Steve and I love old haunted houses and anywhere spooky. I think that place would be amazing for a gothic/vampire/masquerade style wedding ball. If you have ever seen blink 182's I miss you video, you would know what kind of thing I mean. xx

Jill, I also looked at Harburn House and fell in love with it, was truly gutted when I couldn't have it :( but we chose Hopetoun House in the end and it's perfect, close to the church with beautiful gardens and a spectacular view :) xx

We got married at our dream venue!
We didn't really have any type of venue in mind, but when we saw Brooklands Museum we were both bowled over by it. We're both petrol heads and he's a plane freak and loves all things English. As the World's first purpose-built motor racing circuit and the birthplace of British motorsport and aviation what more could we ask for? It was also taken over during both the wars and used as a factory - we had our reception meal in Barnes Wallis' drawing room! AND we got to go on the flight deck of Concorde - something that none of the guests were allowed to do!

Id love to get married in an ice castle/ church, but it would mean a wedding abroad which I have never fancied as it means certain loved ones wouldnt be there which wouldn't make it the perfect day we want.

We are getting married in our dream venue! Literally...
Not long after we got engaged, I had a dream that we got married at the place he took me to for our first date! In my dream we had a sunset ceremony and then we made our exit on his scooter (just like we did on our first date).
So we are now having a sunset ceremony, at the place we first met.. Not going to leave on the scooter though, he doesn't have it anymore anyway but if he did I can't see it working with my dress! :)
I know there are bigger, prettier, grander or more modern venues out there but being able to go back to where it all started, the place that was special to both of us before I knew that I would get to keep him always, and to stand under those same trees where we held hands when we were brand new, nervous and promise to love each other forever means more to me than anything else.
