    Hey,

just wanted to know what yu think of this coz I'm not sure.My MIL2B and FIL2B recently sanded down and painted by H2Bs old cot( which if used by his brother too-will be 25yrs old).I'm really not keen on using it but don't want to offend. Our wee boy is spending his 1st night at theirs tonight but I'm really unsure about this cot. It's not shakey but the bars are certainly sturdier on our cot. He's getting heavy too.
    What dya think?xxx

As long as the matress is new, I don't see the problem. Do they know about the current 'foot to foot' advice?

All of my 3 have used the same cot that my 3 nieces have also used, so its 16 years old now and our son is in it with no problems.
Like dove says each child has had a new mattress when using it but the frame is the same one!

I think they do,I don't want to force all this info on them and make them do stuff my way but when it comes to my wee boy I'm quite safety conscious lol xxx

Something that old is probably a lot sturdier than a cheap new cot.

when i stayed at my grans (for 2 weeks after giving birth) i used my dads moses basket. That would have been around 47 years old.
At the end of the day , as long as its safe , its up to you if you use it or not.

We just follow gov guidelines with anything to do with our son it may be worth updating them to current advice but i would be fine with the cot as long as i checked it first

Our son has my old cot and thats 31 years old and i can safely say he's never fallen out of it, broke a bar etc.
At the end of the day a cots a cot.
You wouldn't walk into a room and refuse to sleep in a bed because its not yours, he probably wont even know the difference :) xx
