Just started a thread on hair/make up and beauty but I've just found that my local college offer the public reduced rates on hair/make up and beauty treatments. This would save a fortune Im guessing but would you trust students/college to do your wedding treatments? I think I would. xx

having finished my hairdressing course last year, id recommend it. there are always lecturers around, who are obviously qualified hairdressers, the students cant do things until they have checked with them and the prices are fantastic. x

the girls who did ours were last year they had only a few month left.
im a trainee hairdresser coming to the end of my 3 year training and while some of the girls on my course arent that good...for various reasons there are some of us who are very talented..you could always have a few trials and when you book if you explain to the receptionist that its for your wedding and you'd like a girl who has more than 1 years training im sure they will be very understanding and acomadate you..but dont panic its not as risky as it sounds..when i first started colouring clients i was never left alone to mix colours and throughout the colouring process the tutors kept checking progress to make sure all was ok. I have had many clients sit in my chair for the first time who were so happy with the final outcome either are repeat customers with me in the salon or are now clients of my growing mobile business...dont be afraid to ask them questions and remember when you are sat in the chair if you are not totally confident with the student who is dealing with you you can change your mind and ask for a different service :)

First Second or Thired year. If it is first not in a million years. Second maybe with alot of practice on you first. Thired yes as they are able to go to the work place and do it straight there and then but at cheap cost
Cant wait to to marry Martyn
Wishes the wedding would come faster

As a qualified hairdresser I would recommend it but only if they were in the latter stages of there course, at level 2 they are classed as qualified and have only learnt basic hair up etc at 3 they are just progressing further so they would be perfect, as they hair up/wedding hair is normally include. I only say this because its your wedding, do you really want to risk things not being right???? I have been qualified for 6years and i have seen so many F**k ups some of which have been qualified professionals.
Think about it hun xxx

a hairdresser can go to work in a salon after 2 years of training, the third year is optional as this is when you are trained in the more technical (fashionable cuts etc) maybe just go and have a blowdry or summit and see how you get on etc xx

my mate had her's done at one in Bristol and she hated it - took her to my hairdresser who is also my neighbour and she loved it. Got what she actually wanted the first time but they couldn't manage. I think if you want something particular experience on how to do it and whether it would suit would override price for me!
