i have just ordered quite a big princessy tiara and love it and wasnt really fussed about buying a veil. However both my mum and the OH's mum are quite old fashioned and are shocked that i was considering not having a veil!! would it be too much with this tiara?? xxx

I think it depends on what kind you go for. If it was just shoulder length and clipped in at the back if you are having your hair up I think it would look lovely. Too long and fussy might be look a bit too much.

I don't think a veil would be too much... but I think the tiara itself looks like it's a bit much on its own. What sort of dress are you wearing?

my dress is in my pics if u want a wee peek its quite big and princessy but not overly sparkly or in your face, was thinking of having a shorter veil maybe clipped into back of my updo? xxx

It's a really lovely veil and a waist-length veil would look lovely, but I'm still not sure the tiara would look right.

That makes a lot of sense. I had to change my tiara when I realised it didn't work with the style of my dress.

That sounds like a good idea. My tiara went perfectly with my dress - but I tried on a veil in the shop, and it just didn't look right (didn't go with the tiara or my style of dress). I had it in my head that I didn't want a veil in the first place though. But try some in the shop to get a better idea.

I like the idea of having a shorter veil clipped into the back of your updo :)
A big veil combined with that tiara would be a bit OTT IMO Xx

It's totally up to you about having a veil.
Your tiara is similar to mine, high and princess like.
I'm having a veil, but have gone for a shorter, two tiered one, as the long ones were too much IMHO.
Go try them! You've nothing to lose!

I've decided to not have a tiara because it's makes my dress look ott. I've gone for a 2 tier 72" scalloped-edge veil, and have this really nice comb thing from Monsoon- it's got 3 ivory roses on it and it fits just above my veil. The cool thing is, when I take my veil out I can still have the roses in :) It matches my flowers too!

Basically just try it on, if you don't like having a veil then don't- you shouldn't be made to just because other people expect it of you. it's about whatever feels more comfortable to you- after all you'll be the one wearing it all day!

try different veils on and see how you feel. in all honestly only ,you can know if you think it looks to your taste, i want to have a long veil and big tiara and hair pins etcbut wont have my veil covering my face. wierd i know. trust your instincts but keep your receipt anyway, just in case you have a last minute change of heart. xx

I don't think it would be too much if you had a shoulder length veil clipped in just behind the tiara. I am having a massive tiara and a long veil with a princess dress. It all depends on the dress, and the overall look you are going for. I think it would look lovely with your dress. The dress is amazing btw. xxx
