Hi guys, I wonder if any of you can help me. I really love the look of table crystals but I am worried about the children swallowing/choking on them. Have any of you used them at a wedding with children? Thanks.

I'm not using them but a few people i know did and they had little party bags for the kids with things like colouring books and things which distracted them from the crystals.. just a thot, hope it helps :)

Oh no :( I want the table crystals too but with quite a few under 5's going (including my son) this could be a problem. Ach well - the kids will just have to stay at home lol x

children who are small enough to be a problem should be supervised by their parents go for the look that you want!

We're using table crystals and have about 40 kids coming in the evening but to be honest I think they will be more interested in the dance floor, bubbles and balloons than messing with our table decorations (fingers crossed lol)

Just an idea but you can make sweetie gems using molds available pretty much anywhere, I could send you the link if you like it... you can do them in candy or chocolate and in lots of colours .....

I would maybe give the kids a little bag of sweetie gems or a bowl on each table with a little sign saying 'These sparkles are for eating, the ones on the tables aren't!' so they aren't tempted to see if the tables ones are edible!

TBH I wouldn't to the these are for eating and the other ones aren't as it is easy for children to get confused. If they are the kind to put them in their mouth then they will do that regardless and the parents should be supervising them at all times. I would say if you are going to have them keep them towards the middle so its easy for the parents to see if the little ones are trying to get hold of them etc. If I had kids I would be watching what they are doing and if I didn't then it would be my fault for leaving them unattended. After all table crystals are not the only thing little ones can hurt themselves on at a wedding and it is down to the parents to keep their kids safe.
