OK, so our wedding at the moment seems to be a lot of to-ing and fro-ing, and I'm panicking a bit that the day is going to be a bit rushed...can anyone help in modifying the timeframe? (as in - have I got the right amount of time set aside for the meal/photographs??)

12.30 - guests arrive at church
    1pm - I arrive - get married
2pm - Photographs, confetti, mingling etc
2.20pm - Bus leaves church taking guests to daytime venue (approx 40mins away)
3pm - Drinks reception, canapes, photographs
    4.30pm - Wedding breakfast
6.30pm - Speeches and more drinks
7.20pm - Bus leaves to take daytime guests to evening venue (approx 40mins)
8pm - Daytime guests arrive at evening venue
    8.15pm - Evening guests arrive

sounds pretty slick to me - although I'd have ushers ringing a bell nearby to tell guests when the bus is ready to go so you don't get any stragglers!

I think that sounds good to me! I've just started to think about our timing as we're not getting married till 2. but there's no travelling involved so think I can do it. just as long as there's enough time for the staff to change the room around inbetween things. :)

I must be crazy giving myself only 6 months!

I would talk to your photographer about the time they will need for photos. All the photographers I have spoken to (all 3 of them! So not loads admittedly!) said they would allow about 45 minutes for photographs after the service to try and get all the shots done. I would worry that 20 minutes wouldn't be long enough, especially when you think that outside the church everybody will be kissing and congratulating you and that will eat up the time xx

I think it sounds very organized. Make sure you delegate the yelling to get on to the bus to someone else. It's important that you can enjoy your day without clock watching. My first wedding, I have no memory of the service at all because I was so nervous. You don't need to be incharge of making it run smoothly on the day - give the schedule to the best man and trust him to get on with it!!

I'd say the photo's aren't long enough, we had about an hour and just about managed to get them done. That said the ceremony was only about half an hour and we had as much in there as we could fit in!

I'm getting married in August so hopefully the weather won't be a problem (in face I'm counting on it to be sunny due to our reception venue!!) - we've booked a lovely white double decker wedding bus which which hopefully will let us have drinks on the way, so I'm not sure that the travel aspect will really take away from the day so much... BIL's wedding was over an hour away on a coach from the ceremony, and we hardly noticed the time because everyone was chatting away!

Also really hoping it will be ok photo-wise, we will get a few by the church but our daytime reception is in a beautiful garden with a conservatory, so guessing there will be better photo opportunities there.

Thanks for your help everyone...may need to rethink it a little bit...wish the church would budge on the strict '1pm marriage time' though, that would make things a lot easier!

Those timings seem really good to me, much better than what i have for mine! They're nice and relaxed, allowing people to do things in their own time without being rushed

I wouldn't worry if it seems rushed. It'll be fine on the day and you won't actually care when it comes to it! You'll be far too happy to be worried about timing x
