Well after a couple of stressful days, my h2b has agreed to bring his reversal forward by a year so now we are going to get it done this october. He never believed i kids before marriage but as he says if he gets it done in october and if i conceive i will be pregnant on our wedding day. Am so excited, all my friends are trying to get preggers and it was tearing me apart.

Has anyone else's h2b's had a reversal and if so where abouts and can you recommend any where x0x

    (really happy face)

It will have to be a private hospital hun (nhs waiting list is massive!)and even then there has to be a referal from his gp, we looked into this as well, but I am 39 this year and I have 3 littlies already so nothing has been cast in stone. It will cost around 3k and they continue to monitor his sperm levels until you conceive. If the op was done within the last 10 years the results are more positive but the longer ago it was the less likely.
My friends hubs has a reversal after 6 years and they have 2 girls now.
    Good luck xxx

i am trying to get my H2B to have one, i have 2 kids of my own, and he has three older children (13+) but i cant bring myself to think that i will never have the chance to have kids again (im only coming 26), its the £3k price tag that puts him off however, its alot of money to waste and it not to work.

    Good luck

nice to here of some good stories where it has worked, my H2B only had it done about 4 years ago, so we are within the ten years.I'll need to have another try tonight to talk him round , not that we will be able to afford it for another few years.

does anyone know any of the places, i know it has to be done privatley, and currently estimating 3k for it. We are looking at nottingham at the moment as that one seems to be the better one, we dont mind travelling at all, our second fav place is the spire in london gatwick. I understand that there are some good stories and some dissapointing stories, but we dont know until we give it a try xxx

reversals are done on the nh, and the waiting list is massive, you would have to fit into a criteria forst before even getting near the list. Ivf your first try is free on the nhs andfter that the second on is 3.5k (in Devon)as one of my friend is going through it at the moment, sadly first go didn't work.
Of all the people that I know (7) that have had reversals none of them have needed any extra help it all depends on how long ago the vasectomy was done. Sorry but my health care experience has to come out sometimes.

im so pleased ive come across this thread. My h2b had a vasectomy 10yrs ago in his previous marriage. He has 2 children, i dont have any (yet). As soon as we get married the next thing on our list is the reversal. Im not bothered if he has it done or not-but he wants to give it a go. We have already decided that if it doesnt work out, we are definately going to try adoption. I know the chances of the reversal working after all this time is not going to be great, but im so lucky that he wants to go for it any way! I wish you all lots and lots of luck xx
