    Hi everyone,
I was just wondering if there are any other brides on here who suffer from ME/CFS and how you're coping with everything -from planning and handling the in laws to trying to lose weight for the big day. I know I'm struggling and was just wondering if any of you have any tips.
I was only diagnosed last year -after having being ill for eleven years and the doctors not clocking on- and am struggling with the pacing and getting out of bad habits. I want the day to be stress free and to know that I can enjoy it without payback. But I've got a very short time frame to lose 2 dress sizes too, and the most taxing exercise I can do is yoga, without the relaxation at the end.
Sorry for the rant would just really like some tips.
    Thanks

There used to be a few of us about but I think a few have left now.

I've suffered for three years now - my in-laws were very easy to handle lucky for me and planning itself was a bit stressful and tiring but as long as you plan well and stay organised and make note of everything you've done and need to do, you should avoid any little surprises. And make sure everyone knows what they have to do and MAKE them do it, even if you have to appoint a wedding supervisor in a friend or bridesmaid... delegation is your friend (although my 'delegates' were almost useless haha and didn't do much!) The most stressful part for me was the week before, I was trying to get almost everything done in just a few days (my fault for planning a wedding abroad!) and by the day of the wedding I was so stressed and exhausted I wanted to cry, I wasn't sleeping because I had to stay up and everyone wanted my attention for one thing or another during the day and we only had two days after to relax so I really just wanted to go home, and sleep in my own bed and not be disturbed or even congratulated haha. I enjoyed the day but oh my was I feeling terrible for a full week afterwards and only just feeling my usual self now.

As for weight-loss - I played the Xbox game Just Dance 3 - meant I could exercise as much or as little as I felt I could, from my own home so I could rest immediately after instead of having to travel home. I really wanted to attend yoga but I knew it would make me tired to do a whole class and have to get home as well. Dieting is good, obviously nothing too hardcore as you don't want to miss out on important foods for energy but eating better helped me to lose a little before the day.

Thanks for the tips hun. Thankfully my yoga is on a dvd so no travelling involved. Unfortunately are very difficult sometimes and don't take my ME into consideration very often. I'm to get everything done by the beginning of November so that I don't have to worry, so hopefully that'll work. Thankfully my MOH is my sister and she is a godsend, she's always trying to take the stress off of me.
Thank you for letting me know I'm not the only one out there.

My sister suffers with Me, she's getting married in a few years but she avoids sites like this as her life is slightly more complicated than most. She says her best advice is to follow what your body tells you, don't overdo it and rest as much as possible. She's given herself years to plan to avoid overdoing it bless her, I just hope all of us around her can support her enough to make it the most amazing day of her life, as I'm sure your sister will do too xx

Hiya, I was diagnosed just a few months ago and have found it hard to learn to pace myself as I have three kids too. My biggest problem was accepting the diagnosis and learning what i can and cant do physically. Its easy to get stressed out with it but I'm lucky i've got such a loving and supportive family. I've just got a couple of dance games because i can do them with the kids too which makes it more fun to do the exercise. Best thing is to take one day at a time and try not to think too far ahead, that was my biggest fault.
