My h2b and I went to look at a venue on Sunday. Decicded it was for us and booked it. Registrar booked. Car sorted. Cake person booked. Save the date cards nearly finished. Dresses chosen. I feel i've not alot left to do and still got 2yrs til the day.

i had 5 months less than you did and within a month of getting engaged i booked the venue, ordered my dress, picked and ordered the bridesmaid dresses, choose the kilt colours booked the photographer and videographer, and had h2b designed the cake. the best things to do really is the big main things anyway which leaves you plenty of time to focus on the smaller details.

Oh and I have sorted photographer. food, oh and rooms etc for people to stay. I forgot that. lol. Im glad I have left plenty of time to focus on paying for it all now. Hopefully more organised less stress, I hope.
OMG! im so glad im not the only super, mentally organised, crazy b2b out there......were the same......church, venue, photog, cars, flowers, seen the BM dresses i want, invites, BM accesories, gifts, sweet jars, decorations, favour bags, poems, music and ceremony itinary done.....BOOM! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The main thing I wanted to get booked was venue and registrar. Some registrars don't take booking until one year before so i'm lucky that the town where our venue is they take 2yrs in advance. My venue have a package that more or less takes care of most things. They are doing all the food, sit down silver service, buffet in the evening, dinner drinks, DJ, My bridesmaids flowers, my flowers, the table centres, top table flowers, button holes and cousages, cut and wrap the cake, cake stand and knife . I cant remember the rest. Most other stuff I have organised and cake decided on. I think i have to actually write down what I have done already and need to do still.

I'm impressed, you're sooo organised :) saying that looking back on our arrangements I think it was just unter 2 years when we got engaged, set the date and started booking stuff. It is nice to get the big things out of the way and then you can take your time and not be doing wedding things all the time x

Haha Krissy905 I totally sympathise - I knew in advance that we'd be getting engaged and I knew he'd bought my ring, and I accidentally stumbled across the box so I knew where it was... it KILLED me not to take a peek, not sure how I had the self-control! ;-)

The main reason for getting as much done now is that I am self employed and my work / wages can vary alot so now I know what in going to be paying and how long I've got to pay for it as well as live. I think i'd love to be a wedding planner. Getting to help people have a great day I think would be fab seeing all the excitement etc. xx
