We have our wedding booked for December 22 2016 but I am struggling to come up with winter wedding ideas that aren't christmas related. Don't get me wrong, I love christmas, but I don't want it to look like a Christmas dinner. Any ideas for colours that are not red or gold? I am happy with silver or white but I wanted another colour to mix it up a bit
CommentAuthorDonnaH39
Haha - my fiancé said ''you have two years... let it go'' (he thinks he's funny with the frozen joke)
Blue looks lovely... like a winter wonderland. Then you could have snow flakes on things as well
Oh has said white and gold could work depending on how you did it and how ''bling'' you did or didn't want to look

I like the idea of blue for a winter wedding as well :) you could go royal blue or even baby blue would look lovely xx

Yeah blue looks nice for a winter wedding, I've seen a few pics of t1ff@ny blue with silver and white schemes that look fab! And I was going to suggest snowflakes too lol! Xx
CommentAuthorFkimbo
I love royal blue, brilliant idea, or possibly emerald green with a simple white flower bouquet. Not sure what white flowers are available in Dec tho.
I may actually get some sleep now, rather than running through every colour of the rainbow in my head, so thank you
CommentAuthorFlossie
You could even mix the colours up and have both royal blue and emerald green. If you search those colour schemes on P1nt3r3st you will get loads of ideas and see what goes with what and how everything looks! X

Haha I remember the sleepless nights thinking of what colour scheme I should have. I hope you have settled your mind a little now

Silver and white, light blue and white, grey navy blue and white. There's lots of colours which are wintery. Think Narnia. :-)

Love the colour of those bridesmaids dresses in the last pic, really stunning. That's the kind of colour I always imagined having for my wedding but when it came to actually planning I went off it lol x

Getting married in February 2017 and have decided for a pine cone wedding. So having colours like chocolate, gold and a really light silver/white. Not too much shining, though.

I love the country wedding look, the jam jars of flowers and neutral bunting, but I'm thinking this may look silly in December. Was originally going to be an autumn wedding, but the venue was all booked up, so I guess I should be all excited I get to plan a whole new wedding :) but I love the whole pine cones idea, after looking on Pintrest that has given me loads of ideas, thank you
CommentAuthorCamilaL
I am going for the jam jars and flowers lol Found that it can be nice on the winter. :D It also can be cheaper lol

I put the options of purple, royal blue, navy, emerald green or cranberry to the MOH and H2B and they both decided without prompt they want green. Happy with their choice and feeling a lot more relaxed now. :) thank you so much everyone, just all the little decisions 2 make now :)
CommentAuthorDonnaH39
I'm glad they both want green as that was what you came up with as well. It will look stunning :) can't wait to hear more of your plans come together
CommentAuthorFkimbo
Are you collecting your own jam jars Or using a supplier CamilaL? Figured I should get collecting as in not sure how much jam or pasta sauce I will eat in 2 years lol
CommentAuthorDonnaH39
You might as well start collecting now and then if you have extra's you can sort through the one's that aren't as nice/good.
CommentAuthorCamilaL
I'm collecting my owm. H2b loves pasta, so we have loads of possibilities to save the jars lol and I don't think I will need loads. Thinking of less then 10 tables, so maybe 20/25 jars. Just ask your family and wedding party to help saving them. We have loads of time.
CommentAuthorFlossie
That's a good idea, I've got quite a few jars in the cupboard at the moment so might save them when I'm done with them for something wedding related. Already getting my auntie to save her baby food jars for me for our sweetie jars, but could use the bigger jars to put flowers in or decorate with hessian/lace or something. I'm sure I could find a use for them!

Slightly off topic but I love the idea of a roaring fire at a winter wedding where they serve hot chocolate with all the whipped cream, marshmallows and chocolate shavings on top, bacon and sausage rolls, hog roast and pulled pork ............................
All cosy with all the guests and then fireworks. Okay so I didn't have a winter wedding, mi wanted one but was vetoed by absolutely every single person, parents, sister, hubby ................ Looking forward to all your updates and seeing it all come together for you.

I've uploaded a few jars ideas on my Decor album. You can have a look. I've found those on P1nt3r3st, and took ages to decide which one I wanted (h2b chose).

I love the idea of having a hot chocolate making station at winter weddings too, so everyone can put their own cream on top and their own marshmallows, and maybe have lots of different syrups and chocolate sprinkles they can choose from as well, with lovely cookies and biscuits etc. I would love a winter wedding as they seem so lovely and cosy, and because of the time year, the whole 'family and friends' thing is heightened and it would just feel really intimate. I have however always imagined a summer wedding so that's what we went for. x

I think lots of candles are a must, it gets so dark so early in December. I'm thinking maybe mulled wine to make sure everyone is toasty
CommentAuthorGlitterfairy
OOOO yep, mulled wine in jars!!! Delish!

We're getting married 27 feb 2016 and we're going with navy blue and splashes of daffodil yellow
CommentAuthorMrs D2B
We're getting married on dec 31st going with black and silver theme with just small splashes of red, I'm hoping to use the xmas decorations which will already be in the venue without turning it into a xmas dinner. We will be embracing the season by offering hot chocolate and mulled wine at the drinks reception and making wishing trees out of sprayed silver branches and black baubles as center pieces, lots of candles and fairy lights, doesn't sound so great in writing but in my head it looks beautiful!!
