Hi, I'm thinking of putting wine on each table for the meal. I'm defiantly having red and white but i'm also wondering if i should have a bottle of rose on each table as well or if it is best to stick to the red and white?
    xx

id just stick to red and white otherwise if you have 9 on a table your giving 1 bottle per 3, its also makes it more expensive., people just want a drink with there meal

red and white should be fine, if someone specifically wants rose they can get a bottle themselves. theres usually a maximum of 8 per table so 2 bottles of wine to start them off should be fine. Im going to be putting bottles of cava (or some other sparkling wine) on the tables for toasts, alot cheaper than champagne!

depending on table size i have one of each no more than that, 8 people will be fine for that, if you have a pay bar dont put anymore on otherwise people wont buy their own and you may have to top up the bar if you are hiring one x

I'm going for rose and white - I hate red, plus it's a light meal, so think red would be too deep flavour for the chicken main meal... Bar is only on other side of the dining room, so I'm certain if anyone didn't like my choices, they could pop to the bar!

Most people prefer white or rose to red so I would skip the red personally or just have one or two bottles on the side. Our venue is serving by the glass so it makes it easier for the guests to choose which one they want. If I had to put bottles out I wouldn't have more than two per table or your guests will be half cut before the evening starts! Its like we get a reception drink, two glasses with dinner and one for the toast so I think that is more than enough! As you can see it soon adds up!

Also just an idea if you are having the bottles on the table..... You can get wine stockings. They slip over the bottle and have pretty tops on them which glam up what would be something that doesn't look pretty and you could get them to match your wedding colours.

I'm unsure what to do about wine. Rose is my favourite but i know some of my guest prefer white and red :/
My dad is supplying all the wine as a gift to us (he's got a pub so gets it at cost) so i may have all 3 but probs will have the hotel serve the wine cuz i dont want lots of rather drunk guests before the evening reception even starts.

I love red wine but I don't think I will be drinking anything but white wine on our wedding day but only because I would be distraught if I spilled any on my dress! But will have one red and one white on the table, and after that they can buy their own drinks. x

personally, i hate red wine, because i've noticed everybody who drinks it seems to get indrediby drunk very fast, howvever often they drink it. My choice would be two bottles; one white, one rose, but thats just me :]
my dad is saying he'll put £500 behind the bar but as we're having a "beer tent" as opposed to a bar, we're planning on buying a shyte load of cheap beer/wine/spirits and doshing them out at "a fair donation" to the guests, i mean, we're giving everybody a free glass of somthing when they get to the reception, and after that theyre on their own - some people will take the mic, but others wil be over generous so it should work out :]
Good luck on the day! <3 x

we're giving a glass of wine with the meal - red/white/rose to be poured by the waiting staff and this will be topped up after the main course. The only other drink we're providing is bubbly for the speeches

my personal preference would be rose and white. The last wedding I was at with 3 bottles per table had loads of wine left after the meal as I feel people either dont like wine and those who do have personal preferences. You cant please everyone so it just needs to be a token drink as many guests buy thier own eg pints!
