How many glasses of wine could you expect to get from a bottle, 75 cl.

How many glasses can you get from a bottle of champagne or prosecco?

I'm trying to calculate how many bottles I would need for 80 guests for approx 2 glasses each with the wedding breakfast.

And then how many bottles of champagne or prosecco to have for the toast.

I would say about 4-5 glasses per bottle of wine. Champagne and prosecco would be a little bit more as you have smaller glasses for them so maybe 6 ish?

What size glasses are you having? Standard ones tend to be either 175 ml or 250 ml, so will be five or three per bottle, depending.

Champagne and prosecco goes a lot further as champagne flutes hold less - between eight and ten per 75cl bottle. Don't forget, not everyone will drink a full two glasses with the meal.

    Xx

I usually get four out of a bottle of wine and then 5 out of champers. When I drink wine I don't ever get more than four from it. x

I also think 4 glasses with a tiny bit left over for the wine and about 6 glasses for champers xx

A standard measure of wine is 175ml, a large measure is 250ml. So, 3-4 depending on what measurement you use.

Champagne/sparkling wine standard measure is 125ml, so, about 6 glasses.

Thinking about it, we've never got five out of a wine glass at home.

Will the bottles be served by waiters, or will the guests be pouring there own wine? That will make a big difference, I suspect! Xx

Depends what u want,it'll cost more if u want waiters to pour it cos it means the venue will have to have more staff milling about x

thats the thing.... i have 80 guests approx... 8 per table. i was thinking 4 bottles of wine per table working on 4 glasses per bottle. they charge £9.25 corkage, and cheapest bottle of wine is £14.75. so im working on it being roughly the same whether i provide wine or they do.

are you serving red and white on the table? say 2 bottles of each? im not sure who will drink what, and that gives me an idea on how many bottles of champers to order.

im not sure on the glass sizes but 4 bottles to 8 people i think is reasonable. i think id be stingy if i only put 2 bottles on a table of 8. lol

At a normal wedding,u just provide 1 of each, so 2 bottles on the table , so they get about 1glass each with the meal, I wouldn't provide any more if I were you, your tables will just look very full x

We are providing half a bottle of wine per person, plus still water and orange juice for children/non drinkers - as I don't drink wine I have no idea how much is in half a bottle, but from this thread I am guessing it is about 2 glasses. Drinks are being served by waiters so I presume they will just keep walking round and topping up glasses as like KelBel says it may looked cramped on the table - these are the sort of questions I need to ask the venue but always forget!

See if you can get the waiters too serve out wine wont be wasted as much or used up so quickly.... we are having 2 glasses per person and the waiters will come round and offer red or white wine as they sit down for dinner then during for a top up.... any one opting for anything else can take themselves to the bar and pay for it. Our corkage was similar price and after we brought the wine it was cheaper to go via the venue and less hassle.

I'm impressed that all you guys can get 4 glasses from one bottle of wine, maybe my glasses are too big I usually get 2-3 :S I would budget on 2 glasses of wine each and one glass for the toast not a lot of people like champers and often gets wasted xx

It's definately easier if waiters do it...then you don't have the hassle of a table who only drink white or red....

Also, you don't get some quick drinker glugging a full bottle to themselves xx
