I was just wanting to know why we are not allowed to have games in the forum like we used to? I've noticed that they have either been closed or sunk with a note not to unsink.To be honest sometimes I get bored of reading just wedding posts so its nice to be able to play games with others or talk about other stuff but it just seems like this is getting more and more limited. If we can't have the games because of people using them to rack up points (even though most of the people that play them are already power users) then can we have some games made for us that we can play etc that don't give us points?
I love this site and I love weddings but there is only so much that even I can take some days but it is still nice to be able to interact with the girls.

I've got my points to be a power user and have had them for a long time now so I don't benefit in anyway from playing the games. I don't care about them hence why I don't care if we have threads set up just for the games in which no points are given to play them. It would just be nice to be able to play them when I get bored and have answered all the up to date threads.

I just can't believe that we have gone a whole half hour without a mod. I've never known there be no one around. I know they have lives outside of UK bride but its unheard of! Just think of all that naughtiness we could get up to.

Jo... I am on here most of day when I'm at work. Leave it on In background and I have noticed that there is never normally mods on in the morning till mud afternoon time.
I know they have lives like the rest of us but there should be one on most if the time. Obv not muddle if night but say from 9am-11pm. Surely they could get a routine or something?

Sorry I'm not a mod :( its just me again :) The games are still there though, I play the alphabet one and just a bit of fun word association game. Would be nice if all could see them though as the newbies don't know they are there.

OK yes i'm here, i'm here.
The games are sunk as a while ago there were a few complaints about how the games were cloggin gup the front page... there are a fair few games and if they were all to be played at the same time thats about half the front page would be covered in games alone.
As for Mods being on all the time....
well I dedicate my mornings to my kids only logging on once the kids are down for a nap. Hails is currently without net connection, lala and goff both work. I'm also about to start working again within the next week or so. Dove is pregnant and living in germany, she's sometimes just too busy with stuff to get online. As far as I was aware Hails normally covered the mornings.
No offence but we do all this for nothing, we arent paid we take time out of our own daily lives and it's really not a fab idea for us to come up with a rota. for example if i fell into doing thursdays 3-6 then I had to cancel plans I have during that day. I love this site and love being a mod but when I do it out of the good will of my heart I'm not willing to let it interfere with my real life plans. If it was a paid job I would see the point in an obligation to form a rota.
That said I do feel as if I am here a good chunk of time as I often leave my laptop on and logged in even if i'm not here so if someone pops up on chat with a problem it will catch my eye

Well thats the other thing we're working on, dividing up the forum into different categories so that we can keep things seperate and happy.
And yes the games are fine they just have to remain sunk, or if the game is a duplicate it will be closed

JoJo is a happy bunny again. I just need to go and find them all again so I can bookmark them. The only thing I can see going wrong with them now is that people won't play them if they don't see them. Hopefully changing the site layout will help keep everyone happy.

as for changing the site layout thats something thats still under discussion with the possibility of doing a trial for a couple of weeks

I think if there are so many complaints then it might be a good option. I know you can't please everyone but it would be a good way of restoring some balance. I guess it depends on how long you have been on here to what and how you use the site. When I first came on it was all wedding talk and needing to know how to do things, best ways of saving money etc but now that is all done and dusted apart from giving a bit of advice (my opinions) there isn't much that benefits me other than the non wedding and games. Yes I still like to talk weddings and love to nosy at what other people are doing etc but its nothing like how I used to use it. God I sound like I've been around on here forever haha

I have no problem with the games, but I have to admit I do prefer them sunk and bookmarked by those who want to play them. If there was just one or two game threads it wouldn't be so bad, but at one point there were more like 4 or 5, which meant once you added all the sticky posts at the top, the first "screenfull" was taken up by games and stickies - which is a tiny bit annoying if you're not actively playing the games....
I would still love to see us switch to phpbb or vBulletin forums, where the front page is the list of categories, with icons to show which ones contain new posts..... but that's just me, coz every other forum I am a member of runs this way, so it's what I'm used to.

mod mother- i know all you mods have busy lives aswell as the rest of us, its just that i normally can only get on here when i am at work and noticed the last couple of weeks that there aren't any mods on in the mornings and that is when posts are made and threads started that shouldnt be.
i know you do a really good job clearing the forum up. this site has just been annoying me a little this week with a lot of advertising and threads started about people being bored instead of using the general chinwag.

I would like to second what stacey has said , i work in a school which means i have to be there to start @ 8.30 i an home by 4 unless i have meetings to attend and i log straight on when im in. from 29th april i will on here alot as i will be recoveing from a shoulder op .....so to keep you happy i will log on in the mornings and will recouperate in front of the pc
