Just wondering how many here are having a wedding band? I'd really prefer one to a DJ but am a bit lost about how to find one! Have been told to avoid overpriced agencies? Getting married June 2013 in London xx

My h2b announced the other day that we should have a live band hmmmmm will have to see whats left in the budget otherwise its a DJ lol

I guess it depends what kind of music you like really because some will work out cheaper than others. My sister had a standard 4 piece band (guitar, bass, drums & vocals) and it was about £800 I think. I on the other hand want a full Big Band which will inevitably be more pricey as you need the brass section as well. I've been doing google searches on the type of band and the location, seeing what comes up & doing some research (finding reviews, getting a couple of quotes etc). X

We're having a band, we looked on search engines then luckily realised there was one band on both sites under two different names, so I searched online for them and found their actual website, by booking directly they knocked 25% off and will do a free DJ set in between their two band sets (which the agencies were charging extra for)

I really wanted a band but know more people would get up and dance to familiar tunes played by a DJ. Luckily, my Dad happens to be a DJ so that's what I'm going for. If money had allowed, I would have had both. x
We are having a band, and they dj in between sets, we found ours by chance online but it may be worth asking at your venue or your other suppliers if they know of any or look on recommended suppliers lists from venues for ideas

We are going to have a band, it is actually my sisters ex's band they are very good!We are having them on first and singing first dance and then DJ will be on later x

I would like a live band but unfortunately our venue doesn't allow it and if its choice between a band or the venue then the venue wins xxx

I would love a band but haven't really looked into the ones round here yet - I got quoted £500 just for the DJ so maybe a band will be too pricey!x

I just spoke to one of the musicians recommended by our venue, for a 7 piece big band plus DJ afterwards it'll be £1500. Slightly more than I'd budgeted but OMG I want that live brass section sooooooo badly :D Now to start begging h2b.... haha! x
