I have now lost my first 7lbs... started on Monday so it has only taken me 6 days. That was with eating healthily and exercising! Ive had a horrible cold this week so didn't do any running for 3 days so Im really pleased! :o)

I've lost a stone and a half so far, hoping to lose the same again before my wedding next year. Sounds silly, but someone told me the only way i'm gonna go it is Eat less and Exercise More! So that's how i've lost my first lot, smaller plates, snacking on fruit and protein and exercise. Running is the best exercise- i've signed up for 10k race for life with my friends, which has given me a fitness goal to work towards rather than just weight. Anyone else doing the race for life?

Think we can use this forum as motivation!

The only problem is when I start a diet I hate myself and feel disgusting however if I eat healthily and dont snack but dont go on an actual diet I am relitively happy with myself. I have bought my dress and it is in the size I am now so dont really want to lose much lol

I am losing weight by portion control and watching how i cook food! I now eat off of a side plate rather than one of my dinner plates! The best thing is, I don't feel hungry! I'm also using the Herbalife diet which is quite good I find x

I need to loose three stone before i get married. I joined weight watchers 3 weeks ago and am almost at my first half a stone :). I did weight watchers before christmas and lost a stone but put it back on again through comfort eating.....(one fo my main problems!) However ..... getting engaged and setting a date has made me even more determined now because i actually have something to look forward too!
Well done to everybody who has lost weight :).

I've lost half a stone so far. Just been eating as little as possible (gave up the slimfast - I was putting weight on!) and running. I'm not a built runner should we say, in fact today I can barely walk but it seems to be doing the trick. I want to lose about another stone in 4-6 weeks before my first measuring session for my dress. It's gonna be hard!

My top tip - caffeine speeds up your metabolism, so I'm living on sugar free red bull at the mo!

Kizzy- Be careful with red bull coz it can also increase ur appetite. Eating small and frequent amounts of on protein can also speed up your metabolism! I've been using chicken with a fat free honey and mustard dressing to snack on. Drinking loads of water also keeps ur stomach fulls and busy!
    Good luck!

stranger- your body will metabolise only when it has food, which is why it is important to eat regularly. So you'd be better off eating small amounts 3/4 times a day. Because otherwise if u eat a large meal ur body won't be able to metabolise quickly enough, so it's better to keep ur stomach ticking along and busy.

Hi, I started the LightLife diet which is the same as the Cambridge diet and it worked brilliantly. I lost 10lbs in my first week, it went down to 5lb the next and the week after. It is had work for the first 2 weeks but I feel brilliantly now. What I would recommend is you follow the LighterLife light version were you do two meal replacements then have a healthy meal of protein (fish or chicken) with veg. which is much cheaper. If you have a lot to loss you should always to some light exercise after the first 2 weeks to keep yourself toned and you loss more weight if you build up your muscle. I know people will properly moan about this diet being unhealthy which is fair enough but its better then completely depriving yourself as it has all the healthy nutrients you need in the meal replacements and is a good way to shrink you stomach so you stop feeling hungry all the time and start eating smaller portians. Just make sure you drink 3-4 litres of water spread out over the day (never down in one go) to keep you hydrated and aid weight loss. Hope this helps. good luck with the weight loss and congratulation on your upcoming wedding :-)

The stuff on the website is exactly the same. I like the veg soup and the chicken but hate the tomato. Most of the milkshakes are nice but tend to prefer the chocolate and the strawberry. The chocolate bars are lovely as well! There is loads of choice to choose from and is nice to mix it up but everyones tastes are different is just about trying it thats why I stick to things I normally like. Tip though if you do try it in regards to drinking the 4 litres of water, its harder to drink cold water so I recommend filling two 2litre bottles of water and leaving them on the side and just keep filling your glass from them as its much easier to drink then when you keep it in the fridge :-)

I have 8... yes 8 stone to lose although my assessment and weigh in is tomorrow at the gym and Im hoping close to 1 stone has disappeared. If Im perfectly honest I could have tried a lot harder on the healthy eating front, in the 4 weeks since I started my diet, as there have been several birthdays and meals out, so I wont be too shocked if I havent lost as much as Im hoping for. I have worked really hard at the gym twice a week tho so that should count for something surely. xxx

    Hey,

I joined WW about 19 months ago and have so far lost 60lb - 3 off 4.5st and have about 17lb to go! I did mess around for about the last 9 months but I can truly say it is definitely worth it! You can eat anything you want, just in moderation! I have done all that without exercise but now I have the wedding to think about I have ordered an exercise bike and got some 'lady' weights for my arms!

I would use xbox or wii but the connections have both been chewed & broken by my 'darling' cats!

Aw, you all sound like you're doing great! I have lost a stone and a half since jan, would like to lose another stone or so.

I found that the fitness app on my iPad was really useful, as it included a food diary so I was aware of how many calories I've eaten, and as I can eat more calories on the days I've been exercising, I don't really feel like I've missed out. I want it robe a long term thing, ie get down to my ideal weight and maintain it, so I wanted to change my lifestyle rather than go on a quick fix diet, and so far it's working great! Xx

i've got LOADS to lose before the wedding (as in about 8 stone!), Weight Watchers is amazing though. Would recommend it to anyone.

Last night was my weigh in and lost another 3.5lbs which takes me to a total of 28.5lbs since the end of March! I had a little while where i wasn't very focused so that's why it's not as much as i'd have hoped but since i've joined the gym and become more focused, it's amazing!!

Looking forward to trying on dresses in November which will be my first time!!! And hopefully i'll be even slimmer by then!

Go girls! We can all do it! :-)

I don't have a *huge* amount to lose but I started dieting just over a week ago at a large size 16 and would like to be a small to regular size 12! I'm not particularly worried about losing the weight, just about keeping it off!! My partner is a big guy and an excellent cook, its very difficult not to scoff down anything he makes, but I'm trying to teach him not to give me such large portions!! I'd just like to feel better about myself when I go dress shopping :) good luck all! xx

Best tip I ever had.... change your plates. or make sure your plates have that inner circle rim around. I used to have rimless square plates and all my food had to go to the edge else I didnt feel I had enough...as soon as I got rimmed round plates food sat in the rim and psychologically you felt you had a full plate!

also dont starve yourself of the goodies!! Treat yourself once or twice a wk, and when you feel peckish have a drink or fruit (i know a banana isnt the same as a crunchie but you know!). You'll appreciate the goodie more if you have it less...bearing in mind im a foodie big time, love my choc and my rubbish and cant live without!

Also brush your teeth around 9.30pm, psychologically your body will think its bedtime and not want any more food!

Good luck to all :D xx
