Hi ladies, I was just wondering who's paying for the bridesmaids dresses? Are you buying them or have you asked them to buy them themselves?
The recent wedding ive been to the Bm's have bought their own, ideally it would be great for my BM's to buy their own but feel really cheeky to ask them!!!

I bought mine in the Debenhams sale. There are some lovely bridesmaids dress in it, so well worth checking out. I got mine half price.

I asked them to pay for theirs at the same time I asked them if they wanted to be bridesmaids. They were all happy to pay. I have said i will pay for their shoes and will probably buy them some jewellery to wear as a thank you gift.
I have paid for all their dresses, i have asked them tho to provide their own shoes, after all i have chosen the dresses i like....and they are not the style you can wear to other functions or parties etc. I wouldnt expect them to fork out on a dress they are only ever going to wear once, and for only a few hours. In an ideal world it would be lovely to have them pay for their own dresses, but i know my BM's would not be able to.

I'm letting my bridesmaids choose their dresses (I've given them a colour, but that's it!), so they are paying for them. I want them to feel comfortable, as they all have completely different styles. I was upfront with them about it from the beginning and they were more than happy to do this. However, if I was choosing their dresses or had a particular vision in mind, I wouldn't have asked them to buy them. If they could wear them again, then maybe I would ask for some money towards them, but if they could only wear them once or if they were out of their budget, then I would pay for them myself. x

I wonder if my BMs could recoup some money by selling them collectively on Bay of E after the wedding. I feel a bit guilty for asking them now lol.

Mine are paying for the dresses but we have set a price they won't pay more than £100 and I'm paying for all the accessories it's not cheeky we wouldn't be able to afford to pay for dresses and all my BMs said they felt privelaged to be my bridesmaid and didn't mind paying x
My cousins BM's all paid for their own £215 each. Also my friends 4 BM's paid for their own for around £150 each. Sarah xx

I want my bridesmaids matching so will be paying for all the dresses, shoes and bits and bobs. I will pay for their on the day but they can do their own make-up or pay the make-up artist. We are having a weekend at the Wedding Show in October together (I have 5 of them) to look at styles then will spend a night with a few glasses of vino picking a style they all like - I feel that as I have asked them to be my BM's that I should pay x

I am paying for dresses, they are getting their shoes as the precedent was set at their weddings. The other option is to 'contribute' an amount of money but if they want to soend more then that is up to them. I also think that if you are upfront about them paying when you ask them that is fine!

We bought for the MOH and three young BMs at a total cost of about £120 :) We are asking the ushers to pay for suit hire themselves though

I paid for everything for our two, dresses, shoes, accessories, even their underwear! I felt it was only right as we had asked them in the first place. I have everything now in my attic (apart from the underwear) so technically I could sell it all and make some money back but I'm tempted to keep them just in case they want to wear them again!

We have paid for our bridesmaids dresses and shoes, I did get the dresses in the 50% sale so basically got 2 for the price of 1 and the shoes I have not paid full price for either. I feel as we have asked them to be our bridesmaids that we should pay for them tbh and we will be paying for the suits for h2b, best man, ushers, page boys and dads xxx

I have 4 bm's a nd a fg. Two are my daughters so im buying them, then my sister is paying for her daughters but im buying the fg's as her mum (my baby sister) is buying my dress :-)
Both offered I didnt ask otherwise i would be buying them all!

i have 4 bridesmaids in total 2 of these are my daughters so they cant pay fo there own they are too young lol but have to pay for h2bs sisters dresses but my maid of honur has said we'll work something out so she may buy her own or at least put half but as im paying for all the bridemaids dresses i will prob have them back after to sell on so i can help raise money to do our house up after the wedding or if we dont take the kids on honeymoon for a family holiday xx

Not me personally but my mum said she will pay 100 to them. I will just need to put a bit more to it if I decided to have my 2 best mates as bridesmaids too.

I will be paying for bm dresses as I feel since its my wedding and if I want them as bm's its my responibility to cover the expense also I only have one adult bm and 2 kids.

I have paid for everything even down to spray tans, nails and eyelash extensions!!! I'm such a control freak I want them looking exactly the same and exactly how I want them to. I even bought their make-up!! lol

i'm giving my grown up bm's £50 each towards their dresses (which just about covers the price of the dress) but they buying their own shoes and accessories. my little bm (OH's cousin) i'm still not sure if her parents want me to pay all of it or not but OH's nan will probably give us the money for it because she keeps wanting to pay for stuff - bless her :) xxx

My Mum paid for the dresses that I chose for my bms except for the littlest one which I brought for my daughter a couple of years ago it didn't fit her so my niece is wearing it now. I brought most of the other bits,shoes,boleros,jewellery ect. xx
