I am not a very sports woman, tried the gym, big fail, I don't go don't have the motivation, but just had a look on a local website, there are Zumba classes 10min walk from my house, and wondered if I could have some point of views, and a bit more explanation from girls who are doing it.

I usually do, but I've been off ill for a few weeks.
It's like dance aerobics but even G managed to pick up most of the moves when he came to a few classes. It's really easy and silly but puffs you out enough to feel that you're getting a good workout.
CommentAuthorFuture Mrs Doublé
Do you have to know latin dances for it? I briefly did salsa but not many lessons, but I love dancing. It would help me tone up I hope

Not at all. You don't have to know how to do anything at all, which is what's great.

I also fancy trying Zumba. I am struggling with my weight big time, I have to work really hard to lose any but easily put in on. It seems worse since I broke my arm last Xmas. So annoying!
I do Zumba twice a week, I've stuck to the 'authentic' zumba classes as there are lots of alternatives. I bought the DVD pack with sticks too, which I try to do at least once a week, I love it and most of all it's fun!

I would love to do zumba. I'v heard so many people going on about it, but I'v not seen any classes for it near me. I think if I do, I'll drag my mum in to doing it with me, as we both need to lose weight for the wedding.
CommentAuthorLiz3yy

tbh im goin to give the game ago and see how it is..think id much rather do that than splash out £4 per class..id rather go to a class 2 or 3 times a week which ends up £48 a month in classes !

That'd be pretty cheap for me, as there's only 1 class per week, locally. but I am also looking into rock climbing in a centre next door.

I went to my first class on Friday, which was £4 aswell. I felt a bit silly at first but she talked us through it and I thought it was quite good. You are working a few areas at a time which is good and also it's better for me than aerobics etc. I find them difficult and hate sitting bits out, I broke my coccyx bone when I was in labour and I can't really do sit up etc cos of it. Our class is taught by a dance teacher tho rather than a zumba teacher which probably would be better.

I would love to try Zumba, a family member does it on the Wii and she looks amazing!

Im thinking of buying it for the Wii as the classes at my gym are always booked up, also if i make a fool of myself least its only me in the house (well my daughter too but i am sure she will join in the madness lol) There seems to be a lot of positive feedback for Zumba so think i will give it a go :D
