this might sound like a really random question.... but who is suppose to walk down the aisle first? we have been to 2 weddings this year and they were both different! the first wedding, the bride and father walked down it first, with the bridesmaids behind. then the second wedding, the bridesmaids went first, then the bride and father last?! im not too sure wot to do! lol

It doesn't matter what way you do it, there is n right or wrong way. My flower girl and page boy went first, then my youngest bridesmaids and a page boy, then my 4 older bridesmaids went in twos and then me and my dad x

English tradition is bride first where as american tradition is bridal party first! BUT it's really up to you hunni have it any way you want, its your day!

Haven't quite worked out the exact order but I am last :-)
At the moment I am thinking
Flower girl Our mums with our son in the middle
Now the dilemma - I have 7 bms but h2b only has 1 best (wo)man and 1 groomsmen. But then they will all be there beforehand anyway, won't they?
So I could have walking down after the mums 2 sisters + 1 sister-in-law (in red, green and yellow) 2 sisters-in-law - h2b sisters (purple and orange) 2 best friends (turquoise and pink)
And then me and my Daddy :-))

I know wome some churches stipulate brides first and attendants after but civil ceremonies are less resticted.
I'm having a civil service and thinking of my son first who is pageboy first, followed by my 2 bm's, then my moh. Will give them chance to get to the front and then it'll be me and my mum :)

i am having my two ring bearer first (my nephew and stepson) then i am having my flower girl on one bridesmaid (flower girl niece bridesmaid daughter, then the other bridesmaids, my sister (moh) and my neice, then my bf and goddaughter then my sister inlaw and my stepdaughter then me n pops CANT WAIT.xxxx

My flower girl will be going first to scatter the flowers then the pageboys them the BMs followed by my MOH and them me and my dad.... hope that helps xx

I'm having bms first and me and my dad last because it works best with the music I've chosen. My mum keeps going on about etiquette and how things are traditionally done like I'm breaking some kind of wedding law with all my decisions. The last time she did it I reminded her that I'm walking down the aisle in white and hardly a virgin so there's one big tradition stamped on. x

in my rehersal last night we decided on
flower girl and maid of honor (they are mother and aughter) me and dad Ring bearer and BM 1 (as they are family i thought this would work) the 2 other BM

I'd like to keep it traditional and go first with BMs after, but I have 2 flower girls too - do they follow the big BMs or go before them? And do they then go sit with their mums for the service? (They are both 4 and a half). I'm a bit worried it won't be so much of a big entrance if I go first (as everyone will then look at BMs) but hopefully it will be ok...

Think about how your venue/church is layed out. Will bridesmaids/flower girls have to pass you to get into their seats. You want to make sure you are the centre of attention so if you have a big bridal pary I would suggest they go down first so you are not at the front waiting for them all to get into their seats. Im having my flower girl first scatering rose petals then my 2 bridesmaids then me and my dad.

As we've decided to go outside of the norm and have me and h2b walk in and down the aisle together (couldn't think of anyone I wanted to "give me away" and as we've been together for 6 years anyway....) we've decided to keep our entrance until last, our flowergirls (our daughter and niece) will go first then ste and I.

thank you for all ur replies! i quite like the idea of walking last to be honest, i dont want to sound big headed but i want to be the centre of attention lol and i think if i go first, the attention will then be off me and onto my bridesmaids! haha! i also like the idea of my flower girls to scatter the petals first, i think thats lovely! but then again it all depends on what my vicar says! hopefully i get to chooose which way i want lol...xx

I'm only having 2 bridesmaids, so they'll walk in before me and then me and whoever is walking me down the aisle will go in after. I like to think I can make a grand entrance by being last because the room is going to be quite small in the town hall.

i was going to have the bridesmaids walk first then me and my dad, but at my dress fitting the dress lady said shame on me for doing it the american way do it traditional so now it will be me and dad with bridesmaids behind. xx

i have 3 flowergirls, 3 bridesmaids and 3 grooms men so im having; flowergirls first to put petals down, and then the bridesmaids & groomsmen will walk down together partnered off, then me, my dad and grandad :-) xx i think its just personal preference and what you would like x

It is more of an American thing to have the attendants go down first. It all adds to the big excitement I suppose. For us, we are having the 4 year old flower girl going down first scattering the petals, followed by me and my father, and my bridesmaid is walking behind me helping me with my (very long) train. x

im having my bridal party go down before me mainly because we have to keep to a routine for my sil2b whos disabled and will give her time to get into her seat with her parents. they can control her outbursts during the ceremony!!! xx
