hi ladies, please bump another if there is one on this subject. i need to know and im confused, we are planning to go abroad for honeymoon. do i need to change my passport before we go or what do i do on this? do i need to tell bank etc before we get married or after. thank you xx

It's usually after because they'll want your marriage certificate. With your passport, how long is left on it? You have to pay for a new one in your married name. Mine will have 7 years left on it so I'm leaving it until it expires, it's not just a case of changing the name unfortunately, it's a whole new one!

Although, you must make sure you book your honeymoon in the name that will be on your passport and they will not under any circumstances accept a marriage certificate as proof of name change at the airport etc, they will not let you board x

My oh's sister did most of it when she got home from honeymoon as her honeymoon was all booked in her maiden name. With banks,doctors ect again she did it when she got back and just took in her marriage certificate. Hope this helps xx
