I want my Dad to walk me down the aisle whether he will that is another question My Dad says to not get married and was actually mad at me that I was engaged Its my decision I will do what I want just because your marriage its working and dunnoe how they are still together but doesn't mean mine will fail I'm not letting my parents marriage put me off I will marry the man of my dreams Who saved me makes me happy whether he likes it or not.
Of course he is invited if he doesn't want to do it then I will give my brother who I'm kinda talking to again the job if he says no or they both say no their both not invited and Mum will walk me down the aisle and be at my wedding She never let me down She will be sitting right next to me on the top table =D <3 X

I am having a tough time with this, my dad is still around and I do still see him (probably about once or twice a month) and mainly only because my little brother lives with him and my step mum. but over the years I have not really got on with my dad the best out of my family at all! he isn't really one of my kind of people. I have a Step Dad who I get on with really well but I am torn between my twin brother and my Grandad, my granddad has always pretty much been my rock! I am the biggest granddads girl going and I adore him! but I know that it would kill my Dad as well as probably really piss off my dads side of the family, especially when I am planning to ask my only female cousin to be a bridesmaid! anyone got any advice?

My dad. If he cant for any reason, then id probably ask my eldest nephew to do it or walk down on my own. My mum is far too emotional for the job lol!

I'm struggling with this one myself, my Dad (who appears to not be the only bell-end of a dad on this thread) seems to think it is his right to do so as my biological father - despite making little to no effort to speak to me, see me or support me since the age of 11; however I want my step-dad to do it because he will not get the opportunity to do so again (my mum remarried but can't have any more children whilst 'daddy dearest' had more kids). My concern is that telling my dad this will cause a blazing row ... then again if he argues over it that's one less invite to make haha =) x

My dad (on a technicality he's ex step dad or something or other) but he's my dad and is happy to do it. I think my mum was hoping to be asked but tbh it hadn't even occurred to me to ask her :-S

I never worry about upsetting biological one - he is another bell end - there are many it seems lol

I'm currently not having anyone, planning to walk down on my own. I'm not into old traditions, and don't feel that I'm anyone's to give away. Might change my mind, but as it stands I'm not having anyone

    My dad for me.

I also had a physic reading recently and it was great. So many things she told me that she couldn't have known, my nan told me she liked my choice (she didn't get to meet my fiancé) And that her and grandad would be at the wedding and having a marvelous time :) amongst many other things x

My step dad is giving me away, been my dad since I was 5 year old,he will be made up to be giving me away, when my wedding coordinator asked if he was doing a speech I just said no as I figured he would be too shy to do a speech infront of everyone as he's not that kind of person but when I told him he said he had already prepared a short speech and had a few things he wanted to say I was shocked to say the least so lets see what he has up his sleeve lol x

My Uncle will be giving me away - I lost my Dad to cancer in 2010. My Uncle was also my Dad's best mate so was chuffed to bits I asked him. I did ask my eldest son (will be 16 at the wedding) but he doesn't like the limelight and I didn't want him to feel pressured so he was happy for me to ask my Uncle instead. Would love to have a pyschic reading - see what he thinks of Bren as sadly he never got to meet him. Will be having a small picture in my flowers I think so he can at least walk to the alter with me xxx

I have asked my gran to give me away as my mum and dad have not spoken to me for over 18 months. Growing up I was always at my gran's house and she's always considered me like a younger daughter as there's only 10 years of difference between me and her youngest daughter. Hopefully my gran will still be here next year as by the time we get married she will have just turned 95, if not then I'll need a back up plan! x

oh no Ann that's terrible news. Thinking of you. I don't think I'll have anyone giving me away, I don't feel like I previously "belonged" to anyone for them to do that.

Rebecca I am the same - though technically last time no one gave me away (my step-dad would have but as it was a small registry office I walked on my own in the end). This time my son who will be 13 will give me away :)

I haven't decided yet, but I'm thinking of asking my mum? Although I speak to my dad and am hoping he will come to the wedding, my mum has brought me up, so it kind of feels more appropriate. Though I've not decided 100% yet

I'm having my H2B dad to walk me down the aisle, my dad died when I was 9 years old :(, I've been with my H2B for 15 years and my future father in law treats me as if I'm one of his own :), I already call him dad, so when we finally set the date I didn't want anyone else.. My future father in law (dad) doesn't like party's big events etc... But when I asked him to do this he said he would be honoured to do it for my dad! It just feels right to me xx

    finally became Mrs B 22nd June 2017!!

this is a hard one for me but we have narrowed it down to two. My dad passed away and my grandfather stepped in to be my 'dad' so i always assumed he would walk me down the aisle but as I've been engaged for so long he unfortunately and unexpectedly died too. My next thought was I have 3 brothers so i will ask the oldest one but he is shy so he is an option but if he decides he just cant do it then i'm going to ask my oldest uncle. My uncle and I are really close so i wouldn't be disappointed if my brother didn't do it and my uncle did, plus i think if uncle does do it, it will be lovely for him as he is my only (biological) uncle out of 5 that doesn't have any daughters (he has 3 sons) of his own

No one knows yet that we are getting married so ive not said to my dad about it yet. Was also thinking possibly my 2 youngest boys doing it but 1 is disabled and is autistic so not sure how he would cope with that. Failing that I'm sure my brother would do it. xx

Im not very close with my dad and we have a seriously strained relationship so i dont want him to walk me down, but because im still inviting him i feel it will be asking for trouble to ask someone else. Im either going to walk alone or with my daughter whos my flower girl. My oh suggested we walk down together whicb would be so sweet but i really want to see his face when he sees me for the first time walking up.
