I have just been reading about the December Power User prise of a luxury boudoir photo-shoot, and it got me thinking...

Who on this forum has ever won a Power User Prize?
Is it worth me becoming a Power User right now, or shall I just wait until I get my 5 gold hearts?

There has been a few ladies that talk on the forum that have won the power user and this years winner of the £25000 wedding was won by a forum user but as she got closer to her wedding day we didnt hear from her but it hink she was having family problems? Im not 100% sure

Me too! I can't wait to get all the gold hearts! I have only started using this website for about a month and I already halfway towards getting my second gold heart, so it can't be too much of a wait until I get all five. Does anyone know how much it is to become power user? x

Yeah sometimes forums users do win :) I know a few of the ladies who won would use the forums a lot but then once they got married, naturally they weren't on as much!

What I did with my Power User was because I was trying to earn PU but not buy it... I posted a lot and then they introduced the ability to post pics and I was on my fourth gold heart and I figured it wouldn't take me more than a month or two to earn that last one... So I paid for one month of PU so I got the tools etc early and I think I earned my fifth heart three days before my month was up... I posted lots more once I could use photos instead of explaining everything haha! So if you are quite close, like I was, £2.50 a month for one or two months is buttons and you get to earn points towards your five gold hearts! If you don't want to wait, £20 for the year is cheaper than paying for it a month at a time if you don't have at least silver hearts, I think.

No, sorry... Did I mess up? I mean because I had the ability to post pics instead of trying to explain things (I suck at explaining things) it made me post more, and I got more points because of posting more!

As far as I know there are no points for posting pics anywhere, although it is all changing soon and apparently we get points for using more sections of the site and not just forums! Yay!

At the moment earning points are largely based around the forum, ie you get points for starting discussions and posting etc.(see rule thread)
So really the only members who can earn hearts HAVE to use the forum!
The new system is based on using the WHOLE site!!
For example if you have an add on your wall that you like the look of, if you click to go to their site you gain 10 points!
If you go to the supermarket and book/buy from one of the suppliers in there then you gain 20 points
and if you use one of the free tools like the table plan you get 5 points and so on!

The idea is at the moment a large portion of members DON'T use the forum and unless they pay to become a power user they have no chance of gaining it for free like we do, so to make it fair for ALL members, points will be based on the whole site not just part of it!
Equally some members ONLY use the forum so this is also to encourage them to use the whole site as well!

I remember seeing the nees feed about Ataraxia winning the rings and I got excited thinking "I know her" even though I don't really just through reading her posts. Sometimes it's just as exciting when you see someone who posts lots of good tips and advice win because you're chuffed for them. x

I think everyone likes it when a forum user wins because you get to know a lot more about it than if someone who isn't a forum user does.. I really liked seeing Rhiannonollie's updates when she won the wedding and my fellow wedding ring winner Ali, seeing the rings she chose was really nice!

I do the same thing, shirleygirly.. See someone I know through the forums winning is like awwww yay! It's like whenever someone wins something it's like aww, well done to them... But if it's someone you know it's like oooooommmmgggg haha. I especially love the reactions... When I won I knew that all you ladies on here would want to know all about it, and it made me more excited knowing that people were almost as excited with me over it and people said some lovely things too... Ooo i loves all you ukbride ladies! Haha. I'm rambling.. But yay!
