thanks but what about the evening do (back home)?? should i send std for that too or just invitations??

a big problem is that his mum isn't coming. scared of flying...apparently... so that eould mean she wouldn't get an invite to the actual wedding. personally i don't care (wouldn't care if she was there or not...bit@h!!) but don't want her to cause trouble and she's the kind of person who would

What are you having here, wedding breakfast and reception or just reception??
if its just reception i wouldnt bother with save the dates
if your having both then i would send save the dates to those invited to both

I am having 2 ceremonies for our wedding, the wedding iteself and then a unity ceremony later in the day. So far I have sent out save the dates to the 30 family members invited to both ceremonies but I am currently working on a simple design for the save the dates for those just invited to the second ceremony. I have warned people that some have theres already and some don't so not to take offense etc. I figured it was best to send to everyone so people have something in writing to show their bosses so they can get the time off, there's alot of people who have to book their holiday a year in advance (including my H2B).
It's up to you but maybe I would just send the wedding ones in your case and send her a wedding one too, you never know she my feel so guilty that she gets on a plane...I would also just make sure I sent out the reception invites early so people are able to make plans for it.

we talked about it (briefly) last night. he doesn't really life talking about his drunken mother.

decided just to send her a save the date and an actual wedding invitation. she's got a year to stop being a selfish boot and make an effort for her son for the first time in his life!!!!!!!!

she told me last year that she was thinking about going to iceland or somewhere as that's where her family tree was ending up. she'd 'just get a valium' and 'i don't mind getting on a plane for something like that', but flat out said 'nope. nothing will get me on a plane, nothing'. well, SCREW YOU!! we're not basing OUR wedding around ANYONE other than US!!!!!!

I'd send save the dates to the party people - there's more of them to save the date! The 20 going to your wedding should know the date already as they'll have flights etc to sort out - we saved on printing and postage by emailing out our save the dates - I've heard of people setting up a private events page on Fbook and letting people know that way too :)

I would send save the dates to those going abroard as they have the date sooner and can start booking flights etc and the sooner they do this I persume it would be cheaper? (I wouldnt know I dont have a passport so never been abroard). I would also do this to the MIL2B as then she cant try and say you never invited her because garuntee it wount be your H2B fault she never got one it will be yours with the 'she obviously doesnt want me there' comments. Then I would also get invites sent out around the same time if you can for those invited to the reception. If anyone says anything about not being invited to the wedding, just say its close family or whatever it is. At the end of the day its your wedding and you don't need to make excuses for anyone. Its enough stress without adding that to it. Then when they're sent its done with and its one less thing to worry about xx
