    Hi everyone.

I just wanted to know how you were all planning on getting the decorations sorted at your venue? Will your venue help you out, will you be doing it yourself or will you be getting a company in to do it?

Some venues I've spoken to won't help you set up, and if there's a wedding the day before yours then you can't have access to the room until the morning. Not sure how you're meant to get yourself and the room ready in time?? lol

I wonder about this too... I think our venue is going to supply table cloths etc... But day before we have to put in flowers and chaircovers... I think x

Some venues provide it as part of the package and do it for you, if not it's up to you to decorate it yourself! If you have people doing flowers, balloons, cake etc they should all come and set them up for you as part of the price. If you need anything else doing like place setting you can always do a plan of your tables and ask the venue to put them on the tables when they are setting them up. Another alternative is to ask a good friend to pop to the venue in the morning and check everything is in place.
You have to remember the venues do 100's of weddings a year so they know what they are doing, you just have to trust them. Make a good detailed plan of where you want everything and how you want it to look and give it to your venue, that way they can get it right ;)
I did my venue set up myself as I made all my own decoration and cake, plus sweet table ... I set it up the morning of the wedding with a team of family and friends! I didn't get married until 4pm so I did have plenty of time x

i think mine is done for me the venue is suppling chair covers so they set the tables i will just drop in my table centres, table plan and favours and they can work there magic. i have booked a starlight backdrop and topiary trees and the comapny set those up might pop in to check its how i want it and im thinking of booking a table the night before for a family meal anyway.

My Venue provides the service for £450 but price is going up next yr and i think it sud the amount of work they do with that u get....
    Room Hire
    Dj
    Bar staff
    Serving Staff
Set up (how u want it) including centerpieces (but if u want to make them then they place them on tables for u)
    Table Cloths
    Napkins
you just arrange who u want to hire chair covers from n then the company comes and sets it up.
I think that is amazing for just £450 and think it going up is still worth the time n effect.

But depends if u want to do it all urself as some ppl prefer it, me personally no thank u dnt wan the stress and as u have to make plans and have meetings with the events manager u get what u want with the staff doing it xxx

i was unsure so i spoke with the venue the other day and she said i can either supply a picture of the set up on my mum's kitchen table or i can come in and set on up and they will do the rest the only thing i want to do is the staircase and bar. which is just putting some little vases with candles in out and running ribbon around the railings

I do all the inside stuff for free, but I think we've got to decorate the courtyard ourselves. They've been great so far though, so I'm sure there'll be flexibility in it.

We are getting married on a sunday and there will be a wedding there the day before so we only have the morning to do it and I didnt want to rush around getting the room ready and then myself so I got a company to do it for me........less stress!

We will be doing ours ourselves, we get married on a Friday afternoon, and we get access to the place from Thursday so I could go and set everything up on the Thurs if the floor, dancefloor, uplighters and the tables have arrived in time as these are all being hired in. If they dont arrive in time then it will be a Friday morning set up for me. And I'll be doing it myself the morning of as we dont get married until 4pm.

Our wedding co-ordinator said she'll put centrepieces etc out for us but if theres anything fiddly it particular then we'll have to do it ourselves. I'd prefer to do it myself to be honest but if there's an event the day before then well have to do it in the morning and I don't know how we'll have time lol xx
