Raaaaa... I feel a bit of a rant coming on so i'm sorry in advance. My H2B dad rang last night wanting him to go round so they could have a chat. He went and amongst other family rubbish his dad has told him that his side of the family don't feel comfortable coming to our wedding as it isn't a religious service and because my H2Bs cousins aren't invited to the day but are to the night which in their eyes could be a problem, his cousins range in age from 11 to 30. That side of the family aren't close at the best of times, they received a save the date card in November last year but because they didn't get an official phone call from my H2Bs dad regarding the engagement they have never mentioned the wedding until now. I have only met these people once in 3 1/2 years so it shows how close they are, now i really want to uninvite them but i'm unsure as to whether it would upset my H2Bs dad. What would you do?? x

I would let them have their moan and still contintue with your plans as you have made them. You can't please everyone. It is your day and the only people you need to please are you and your H2B. One of my sister's and brother have fallen out and my sister said if my brother goes to my wedding she won't. Well I can't be bothered with it so they will both get an invite as intended and if she doesn't come so be it. May be you take a deep breath and continue. Keep the invites as they are and if they don't feel comfortable because it's not a religious service then they have the choice not to come. You just enjoy your day hun, it's about you and your man. xxxx

Thank you hun, i never realised people could be so petty. I fully intend not to change a thing regarding his cousins etc but my H2B was so upset that he saw his dad so upset yesterday, I just don't understand some people!!! You are right it's our day and sod them if they don't like it lol. Sorry to hear about your brother and sister, some people just try to make things so difficult don't they! x

I agree hun, my sister was trying to make me choose between them but to be honest I really am not too bothered if she doesn't come. She likes a drink and gets a bit out of had and insulting when she has a skin full so im having a pay bar for sure.
Im sorry to hear your H2B was upset too but when it comes to weddings some people only think of themselves and not the actual Bride and Groom. They have had lots of notice by you sending them save the date cards. I hope it all goes ok for you. xx

Its funny how people's true colours come out at a wedding... its your day and it annoys me with all the family squabbling. Just because they are family does not automatically give them a invite in my opinion.... they should be a friend too and be worth an invite so if you want to reconsider their invite then go for it. xxx
