We decided to go with the tour operator as Kenya is not very common & I wouldn't have a clue were to start planning or who I would be safe to go with! I have been told by alot of the Cyprus brides that it's cheaper to book the wedding through a wedding planner over there. I would say it all depends were you are going & what options there are :-)
Where have you chosen? x

Im not too sure yet, we've only now decided its what we both would love to do as apposed to worrying what everyone else wants.
Cyprus seems a popular choice, dont want to spend a fortune though.

OK....this will be loooooong! We looked at 2 companies and got quotes from them. Then we met an independant travel agent at a wedding fare and got a quote from him. Then I was off sick for 6 weeks due to an emergency operation, so was sat at home...so, I started looking and pricing and thought I'm sure I get this down. So I literally spent days surfing the net and getting quotes from various comparison sites to try and get the costs down. I was then able to provide this as evidence to all of these companies who were then able to price match them. We preferred to go through an agent as they're ATOL protected and therefore we got a higher level of insurance should anything go wrong, lilke hotels mucking up the booking or flights being cancelled etc. In the end, because of my tireless research, we drove down the original quotes by over £500! In the end we booked the hotels and flights through the company 'that hasn't yet had their cherry popped' (hope you can get the name from that clue LOL!) and they were great. We even got free passes into the V Lounge at Gatwick airport. Our resport fees at the MGM were also included (something you need to watvch out for if you book some hotels yourself). Total was a fraction over £2K for the both of us - flights, 5 nights at the MGM Grand in a queen bungalow suite and 2 nights at the 4 Seasons. x

we have booked ours ourselves but this is because we have got free flights due to Mr lalas air miles and we don't have to pay for accommodation as we own an apartment
The original date was for Sept this year but we put it back a year to next Sept because weddinggs are soooo expensive with everything that we want, I dont really want to scrimp on anything either so figure we could have a gorgeous wedding abroad and a recpeption to celebrate when we get back??
