Hi everyone, I'm looking at making my own wedding invitations and wondered if anyone knew which printer was the best to buy to do this? I want them to look as professional as possible and my current printer is not good enough. Was thinking maybe a laser printer? But not too pricey. On a budget. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! :)

Get a photo printer that also does normal printing. I printed all mine and they looked amazing

My printer was a normal printer, I find its the paper/card you use that gets the best finish. My invites on my profile x

hi, i am in the middle of printing my own and a laser printer is best (some card you get to print on works best with a laser printer) you can get them pretty cheap if you dont have one already! If you cant get a laser one just get apropriate card/paper for your printer like Stephanie said :)

Just be careful how it feeds the card/paper. I tried to print some stuff off at work on the laser printer there and my card was too rigid and just jammed

What sort of budget are you working to for invitations if you don't mind me asking?
Reason I ask is you can get really affordable invitations printed from v15t@pr1nt. Check them out, it may work out cheaper than actually buying a printer, ink and all the materials. At the time I was planning my wedding many of the ladies on here were also using v15t@pr1nt for their invitations and other stationery.

If buying a good quality laser colour printer you're looking at over £100. Then there is the cost of coliur ink cartridges and all the paper/card to print on.
I got my invitations and rsvp cards printed for just over £100 but ordered way too many (forgot at the time of ordering it isn't one per guest, it's one per couple or family lol).

The other option would be to design your own and print on pr1nt3d.c0m. They have amazing sort of papers and it's not expensive. However, they don't do design, only print.

Yes, I used that V1st@pr1nt for my STD's and you couldn't even tell they weren't done by a professional. Will also be using it for the full invites and the rest. Much easier and quite cheap. Price it up both ways (DIY v. V1st@pr1nt)
Just see what works for you. You may find that you end up not having time to even print them for yourself if you have a busy lifestyle, or you may find that you have loads of time and need something to occupy you lols!
