Hi,
We are having:-
Happy are they, they that love God Love Divine Angel Voices
My main advice would be to find hymns that the congregation are going to know or pick up easily, otherwise there won't be much joining in coming from behind you. My other piece of advice is to not just stick to songs you might remember from school assemblies. I am also in our church choir and from that side of the fence, I have lost count of the number of times we have sung Morning has Broken, Give me Joy in my heart and One more Step along the World I go. If you are not having a choir though, that sort of thing might be a safer bet as you won't have people there to lead the singing.
Good luck xx

we are having All things bright and beautifull, lord of the dance and Give me Joy in my heart.mainly because we like these form our school years and they are easy tune for everyone to follow

I think we are going to have amazing grace, all things bright & beautiful and not sure about the 3rd.
May the dreams of your past be the reality of your future!

We are having Morning has broken,One more step along the world we go and Lord of the Dance,i chose one,h2b chose another and our daughter chose the third. We picked songs that are easy to sing cos neither of our families are renowned for their singing so simple is best .We did have a bit of a sticking point with h2b as he really, really wanted Little Donkey and i said only if i was 9 months pregnant and could ride to church on a donkey lol (funny thing is when we went to see the vicar he told us that a bride had ridden on a donkey the week before!!!!) xxx
