I have found the most gorgeous shoes, in the album on my profile, and they are only £35 (might be more with import tax as from china) but I don't have a dress yet. Half my friends say get shoes first and and half say after, I know I am going to have a long dress so is it that big a deal?
CommentAuthorcharlottelee
I think it depends on a few things really. personally i had to get my dress first. Being 5ft 8 a few of the dresses i tried on i couldnt even wear heels at all. As it turns out my dress has enough length for a 3-4 inch heel but would definatley get the dress first because you really never know. Most bridal shops will loan you shoes to try dresses on but being of more value surely your shoes should match your dress

I'm only 5ft 2 so I don't think I will be having that problem :) Think I am just being a bit impatient but like I say no one is going to see the shoes!
CommentAuthorcharlottelee
You would be surprised. My shoes are very important to me and after i bought the dress took me a whole day to fins a pair i wanted. they will be seen lol.
But seriously unless you know the exact style of dress you are having i wouldnt buy them yet and you may end up with white rather than ivory for example

I personally got my shoes first, but mine are blue, so they didn't really need to match my dress.
If you can't find them in the colour you want, there's always getting them dyed... and if you're having a long dress and aren't really bothered about them matching (like if you can't find any shoes you like more) then I would go for it.

Yeah I just really love them and think what if I can't get them once I've picked my dress!! And I could just sell them if they don't match! :)
CommentAuthorx~Hails~x
Most bridal shops ask you to bring shoes to your fitting so going by this I would say dress first BUT I know what shoes I want already which are red so they wont match my dress anyway. so i think the fitting will be more to see the heel height so the dress isnt too long/short when walking

i would wait till you get your dress as i was going to buy a pair of ivory shoes before i went shopping for my dress and have ended up getting a white dress. xx
CommentAuthorKirky
My shoes where the first thing that i bought. They are red irregular choice ones.
CommentAuthorKat
Surely it doesn't matter which order you buy them in as long as if you do dress first you make sure you have your shoes for the fitting for dress length. If you want the shoes to be the exact same colour as your dress then I would say dress first
CommentAuthorZoe Kay
just decide on the height of the shoes I think and go dress shopping :) - I got my shoes first but as some of the ladies above - mine are blue so they were'nt meant to match :D xx

Buy the shoes now and worry about it later!! I bought my wedding shoes 3 weeks after my proposal. They were the right shade of purple and in the sale for £10 so I had to have them! I still have no dress and the shoes are still the only thing we have bought for the wedding, I just knew they were the ones I wanted so as soon as I saw them I got them. Plus it means that when I go dress shopping at the end of this month I will be trying on dresses with the right shoes.

I got the shoes first, not like anyone's gonna see em except for when I lift my dress to show em off anyway! I bought a cheap pair off ebay and decorated them myself :) pics in my albums if you wanna have a nosey xx

Hi Mrs Hughes 2B, I have just bought my dress I I am now looking for the perfect shoes. Would you let me know the web site you saw your shoes on please. PS. I would get the shoes, but only if you are prepared to get another pair if they don't match your "perfect dress"

See this is it they are pretty cheap and I would probably use them anyway if they didn't go with the dress.

I picked out some gorgeous shoes after seeing my dress - but once i tried the dress on ec I found my shoes were going to be too high to be comfortable all day so I've opted for some lower ones, luckily my sorter bridesmaid is going to use the other pair and I'm not really fussed as wont see them as such and they are still a lovely pair of shoes.
CommentAuthorSweetyPie
Hi, I bought my shoes when we first got engaged 4 years ago! They were just what I wanted, ivory, small heel & extremely comfortable, best of all they were £5 in a sale. I bought my dress a couple of weeks ago, I tried them on together & I'm very pleased. My dress will need shortening when I have it altered though. :)
CommentAuthorOfficially Mrs M
I bought a pair of shoes when we set the date and took them with me when ordering my dress but I've bougt a slightly higher pair now so I'm just hoping that they are okay as the shoes I had at the time were border line for the length I will have to see what happens when I go for the first fitting if the new ones are ok
