I really wanted a purple medley colour scheme but our venue has gorgeous rooms with truly horrid carpets that are burgundy with bright yellow marks.
Can't post pics as I am not a PU, but there are pics in my albums.
Any ideas would be really helpful as i just cant see past the carpet

i doont think its that bad to be honest, the pic has purple in it and it looks really nice, people wont be bothered about the carpet! my venue has extreamly similar carpets but not really boothered....hopefully people wont be looking at the floor! lol x

I do think that carpet is very eye catching in both pics... It doesn't look unbearable but it certainly doesn't match anything very well. The more reddy pic looks okay but the yellow ruins it. What was the venue even thinking with that carpet? Lol.

I don't know what you could do about it though. Maybe venue dressers would have some ideas?

My H2B actually discounted venues because of the carpet!
It depends on the overall vision you have for the dressing of the room
I'm not sure how you would get around it without it being pricey

We have a red carpet at our venue (pics in album) but our scheme doesnt have any red in!

We are the same. Our venue is gorgeous,but the carpet is a bit wrong. :/ lol. Nobody will care what the carpets are like. Choose the colour scheme you want. Its not going to matter. Unless you want purple and yellow as your scheme. :D

I think a lot of venues have carpets like this. It's just the way they are, I wouldnt be bothered by it. That picture has purple in and does not look to bad x x

I have the same problem too green patterned carpets with a purple theme but if thts all I have to worry about then that's okay with me, I don't think anyone will b looking at the carpet.... I hope hehe :-) x

I hope so too Mrsbayliss lol. It's a shame really cuz they refurbed it last year costing about £3 million and the rest of the decor is very modern so not sure what they were thinking with the carpets, it reminds me of the one in my local Gala club lmao

Go for whatever color scheme you want. Our venue had the most hideous green & yellow carpet, I considered having green and yellow as our colors but I was told that it would accenutate the hideousness. So I went with the colors that I wanted and it turned out great.

You wont notice it honey and i bet no one else will either.... the first picture with the purple theme looks lovely. I think as long as you fill the room with chairs, tables, and have good eye catching centre pieces then no on will notice as looking at other things.

I was put off some beautiful venues purely because of the carpet and hopefully now we are getting married outside lol x x I did see a place with horrid green carpets dressed in pink and tbh it still looked beautiful so I would just stick with what you want .. aslong as there is enough of it the carpet will be over powered x x

Loads of venues have rank patterns so they don't show the dirt. Just go ahead with your colours as when all the tables and chairs are in and all the people you will hardly see it.

Ask you self. What colour was the carpet at the last wedding you went to? (Although if you can remember...yikes it must have been bad! lol!!)

It'll be fine, i've never noticed a carpet at a wedding. xx

Right girls, have decided to go ahead with the purples and to hell with the carpet ( just won't look down lol).

Thinking about making the sweetie buffet table larger than planned now to cover the flooring even more, any excuse for more sweeties.......yummy.

I was lucky that the room we are having is green and our colour scheme is purple and green.

You would think though that venues would think about this and try to have as neutral carpet as they possibly could without it showing too much dirt.
