I'm doing my own make up too!!!!
    Only having minimal make up.
Will probably use stuff I already have but the only thing I will splash out on is foundation and concealer.
I tried Clinque, which was great and lasted all day!!
    :-)

It depends on what suits our skin really. Get a good primer, that helps it stay on as well.

I think u should go to a good department store and get them to do a free makeover on u, like at the Clinique/clarins/benefit counter and if u like it,treat yourself and buy some of their products for the big day, their staff are well trained and will be able to help with all skin issues,to make u look ace x

Mac, Bobbi Brown, Bare Minerals are all ones I've seen make up artists use. Also Laura Mercier, Dior and Urban Decay.

I would second what some of the other girls have said - use a good primer and ask at counters for a makeover. If you plan on doing your own makeup remember that for it to show up in photographs, you have to use a lot more than you usually would!

KelBel has suggested a very good idea, if not then brands like Mac, Clinique, Clarins etc are the sort you want to go for! But again all depends on skin type and sensitivity so could always go for a free test run and take it from there xx

i went and had a consultation with clique last July and i have to say it was great she went through what sort of skin i had what i thought my problem areas where and what i wanted from my skin products. she then showed me what she thought would be best for me and we went through what sort of foundation i needed and colours she recommended she did a mini make over with the products and i purchased them all. i find the foundations last a lot better and i don't need to wear as much. it is a bit more expensive then i used to buy but lasts a lot longer. i would definitely go to one of the bigger department stores and have a look at all the different makeup speak to the consulates and see what best for you x

Get a primer is the best idea i could give to you, I have very greasy skin but a good primer helps make up stay on :) xx

A primer is like a thin moisturiser that you put on before your foundation and it evens out your skin and sits on top of your skin which then stops your foundation sitting in your pores so better for our skin and stops your make up sliding off.

I went and had my make up done in Boots just before christmas and she used No7 on me including a primer and skin tested my foundation and i love it..... the primer really does make a difference as my make up lasts all day and looks perfect and skin so much better and good price too. The foundation is called stay perfect and a perfect match and looks awesome on my skin. I defintinly recomended going around a few places but you dont have to spend a fortune either as No7 foundation is about £12 a bottle and its amazing xxx

Do not go for Benefit! It only lasts an hour or 2. Rubbish. I agree with the other ladies, Clinique. Or Estée Lauder is good too xx

Clinique or Estee Lauder...my friend did her own and she spent a packet on her make-up (I think it was like Chanel or something mental) to get a good quality one but it was worth it, she looked absolutely beautiful all day, just perfect.

I'd def agree with a Primer, my mum swears by hers! She's just tried a Nivea one & said it's really good. As for the brands, I would agree again with the ladies with Clinique, Estee Lauder, Mac etc. Good luck :) xx
