I had my hair trial yesterday which i was really pleased with, and when we sat down to do timings etc.. i said that when i had my make trial she said that she needed me to have my hair done by 10.30 so she could come and get my make up done but my hair lady is saying that i should have my make up done first, so that make up lady isnt having to pin my hair off my face to do it etcc..to be honest this made sense to me as i thought that she would just scrape my hair off my face so she could just do my make up withought having to worry about messing my hair up. I text my make up lady and told her what had been said and asked if it was a problem for her to come earlier and have my make up done for 10, she said it wasnt a problem but it was very unusual for brides to have their make up done first, and if she does it that way round she wont be able to stay until just before the ceremony to do any last minute touch ups etc..

so i was just wondering what everybody else is doing, what are you having done first??

I'm doing my own make up, I was going to put my foundation/base layers on first then have my hair done and then finish off my make up. If I need any touch ups I will be doing them anyway :)

There are so many people out there who will tell you
    what you can't do.
What you have to do is turn around and say, "watch me"!!

I wish i was doing my own make up now lol...i can do my own touch ups i suppose, i was thinking surely its easier to do make up first then she hasnt got to worry about messing my hair up, she would have to pin my fringe back and hair lady said i will end up with kinks in it where the grips have been...but if i have my make up done for 10 i wont get any photo's as photographer isnt coming till 11, although i suppose one of my BM's could take photo 's with their camera :-)

I agree as my make up will take 45 mins and my hairdresser has said she wants an hour and half to do my hair...she said she will come at 8 and do BM's hair whilst i shower and have make up done etc...then BM''s can do their make up (doing their own) whist i have my hair done, aiming to be ready for half 11 so all we have to then do is get me in my dress, do last minute touch ups and calm me down lol ready for the ceremony at 12.30...how does that sound?

I am doing my own makeup and my hairdresser is cominng at 9.30am.I am not sure if i want to do my makeup before then for a 1pm wedding(seems very early) but can see how it might be tricky to do foundation etc after hair.I just hope my hair, veil etc will be flexible enough to move out of the way without too much damage.Might have to rethink and do my founation at least before my hair.Oooh dilemas dilemas, people keep thinking of things i've not even considered lol xxx

I'm having extensions in and it all wrapped in a bun, then i'm having the front bit "raised" for my tiara to sit against, then having my fringe sweeping across my forehead with some curls on the sides...if that makes sense xx

    Hi All

Just thought i would update as per my previous post! I asked my hair lady what to have done first and she said hair first as you are working with heat and it can make the make up go really funny so she is coming to the hotel at 9:30 on my wedding day! Took an hour and a half to do my hair and then she thinks about an hour to an hour and a half for my make up?!

    xx

I'm having hair then makeup done, I wondered about this too as my hair wont be completely off my face, but I had lashes done before and they ended up out of place because I got hair done after and the hairdresser was flicking my hair all over the place trying to curl it... I was ready to explode after the 3rd time she flicked it into my lashes lol x

im not actually sure but it doesnt matter too much as my dress I step into it so I am just going to let the hairdresser and make up artist argue it out on the day. think my hairdresser will win tho

I always get my hair done first. The amount of hair spray i need for my hair is just stupid, so i dont want it going everywhere and smudging all my make up. Its the same for my engagement party on Saturday. I'm going to my mates to get my hair done with no make up and looking like a mess, then i'll put base coats on and she'll do the finishing touch ups.

I usually do my make up first. However will probably do my hair first, loosly pin fringe out of the way and do make up then touch up fringe if needed.

Make up should go on first. For my sisters wedding I had half my hair done, then all my makeup followed by the rest of my hair around my face/forehead so the makeup didn't ruin it x
