Hello and welcome to the site.

I would possibly start by thinking colour schemes, then you could at least sort out accessories, but just browse e everywhere weddingy to give you an idea of what you want

Welcome! I assume you've picked your date. My first thing was venue. Once I had that, everything else slowly slotted into place.

Yeah the first thing I sorted was my venue too. Thinking of colour schemes at the very start isn't the best thing to do because what if your colour scheme is peach and your venue has carpets, walls or huge curtains of which colours that clash badly with your lovely table and chair decor?

Definitely start by looking into possible ceremony and reception venues. Work out what the maximum is you are willing to spend on the reception. Get your pricelists together, book appointments with a few venues, work out what everything costs there from the room hire to the meal price right down to wine lists, bar prices and corkage etc. Then when you have settled on your venues, both ceremony and reception you can start thinking of colours, your cake, transport etc etc.

Lmao not that everything clashes with peach and not that you would definitely have peach lol. Whatever colours you choose should really not be clashing with their existing decor is what I should have said.

Welcome to the site and congratulations on your engagement!

The first thing you should sort is your budget. Make sure you know exactly how much you have to spend and what will go on what and then try your hardest to stick to it! Next make a list of what is most important to you and what you could live without. Then start looking at the big things such as the venue (do you want church, registry office, hotel, barn, marquee etc?), the photographer, wedding insurance and go from there. Hope that helps a little and if you ever have any questions or problems the ladies on here are fantastic at offering opinions and advice!! xxx

    Welcome to UKBride.
First thing we did (besides telling everyone and smiling alot!!) was talk about what time of year we'd like and narrow down rough date, we knew we wanted a saturday so we wrote down every saturday for 2 years and crossed out dates we knew we couldn't and shouldn't have, that was really helpful to be honest. We decided on which type of ceremony we would like too. Then we did a basic guest list, get a rough idea of numbers so we could think of venues that would be able to support that amount.
Budget next....hardest thing ever! We have saved but its still hard to know what to allocate.
After that its picking a venue, which isnt easy at all.

Anyway, I dont want to bombard you with loads of things but I will say if you will always find support and advice on UKB xx
